The Waiting Game...Who's playing?

I'm playing the waiting game. I ordered from the dealer on 11/24. Likely I will be waiting a while, they said "6-8 weeks." I asked for a viin# the other day so I can start the cap order process and they said it was way too early lol. It's a DCSB black SR5 with sidebars. Getting a Leer XR cap with Thule rack. Looking forward to it.

Placed the order with my dealer a couple weeks ago and honestly haven't even checked back in because I know it's futile. It'll get here when it gets here.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get that mythical "$500 over invoice" that you all seem to be getting...Dealers in my area can't keep TRD and Limited (Hell, not even SR5 4x4) in stock and DCLB are almost unheard of in gulf states from what I've seen, so I couldn't get them lower than $1100 over invoice. I'll work a couple extra shifts to make up the difference and have my truck a few months earlier AND exactly as I want it. I was quoted 8-12 weeks, but my sleezeball salesman swore he always got them in within a month. He also swore the seats had height adjustment, they weren't manufacturing ANY long beds ANYWHERE until July, and the suped-up 4x4 SR5 they had came with crawl control.

Just got some great news. Build date is today. Dealership called and said it was actually built on December 9th. Toyota told them to expect it at the dealership between December 22 and December 25!

Ordered it on August 27th so its been a loooong wait.

 

What area are you in the it takes that long?

 

Pennsylvania. Ordered a DCLB OR 4x4. Tech and premium, non JBL. Back in August I went through about a dozen dealerships. Apparently that build isnt allocated for this region and all the dealerships had pretty much the same story. I was about to pull the trigger on buying one from Colorado and getting it shipped but decided not to. Late October Toyota finally accepted the allocation and I finally got a build date of December.

Holy shit! I ordered today (Canada)…best case scenario is mid January, but Im hearing longer for others. I'l be without a truck starting Jan 2nd (sold my 2012 taco)…ugh!!

 

So 2 weeks to Pennsylvania.... My socal dealer is saying 2 weeks to get here....

 

My build date is slated to be on 12/15

Finally the wait is almost over. Built on December 7th and scheduled to arrive here between the 26th and 30th.

 

My wait is almost over and shorter than expected. Ordered 11/25, expected delivery late Dec/early Jan. Call from the dealership last night, it will arrive in a few days. Short wait because they found one that nearly matched my build on it's way to another dealer. Had everything I wanted plus the tow package. Since I didn't want it, they took that cost off the price for. Cool... free tow package in case I ever need it.

Waits for Tacomas are nothing. Every MINI Cooper I ever ordered took at last four months, sometimes six or more months. This wait was a cakewalk.

 

Order date Oct 5th, Build date Dec.4th got my build sheet and permanent Vin # today .Dealer says It is in Transport mode and should be at dealers some where around Dec 28th TRD OFF ROAD DCSB, Auto, Blazing Blue ,Premium JBL

 

Ordered 10/16, built 11/25, delivered 12/9.
Limited MGM with tonneau and tow.
