So this happened today... 13k, lift installed, tires mounted, alignment done, and a problem that started to occur on the way home


So I started hearing this loud clunking noise on the drive home from work whenever I would hit the smallest bumps. Thought it was coming from the rear but as I inspected the suspension I realized the sway bar being in contact with the passenger side shock. Drivers side was close too but no sign of contact like the passenger side. So I started to drive around and as I listened the noise was coming from the front passenger side of the truck. Going to see if any of the shops here have the sway bar relocate brackets once they open in the morning. Would this help my issue? I see alot of threads of people just removing the sway bar instead of relocating it...

The cup the coil sits on is the one making contact with the sway bar. If anyone has any input on this issue please feel free to share!

 

Just remove it but if you really want it back on I can probably pry my relocate mounts off the truck and send them to you.

 

I bought mine at Racers Edge for $30.

 

Just bought mine this morning! lol 671 didnt have any but they quoted me $120 to fab one lol so I went up to mikes to see how much he had them for.

Edit: And it's funny that the vendor couldn't find a box for the BF2... unless you bought a demo piece. I wonder what they are gonna tell the Ford guy, then the Dodge guy, then the Nissan guy, then the...

Hey, no problem! I thought it was funny too!

Now, the countdown is on as to how long you keep the spacer lift. Your truck is a short wheelbase, so now it should ride like a grocery cart. I went that route with a DCLB, and that only lasted a couple of months before I ditched the spacers for a real suspension lift. It rode like an 1800's lumber wagon. I thought that I could get away with spacers and save some money, but I tow heavy loads, so I had to upgrade and spend more money.

You may already know this, but check your stock UCA's and make sure they are not hitting the coils at full drop. and that your front shocks aren't maxed out either. You may wish to get some LR UCA's or comparable.

Lol I know its bound to come. My plan is to pay the truck off then buy the fox ultimate suspension lift if I stick with the 285/33" sized tires. But, if I go up to 35's maybe a 6" BDS lift or SAS just like the black betty build all pro is doing. Definitely learning as I go, thanks for the input though I will check that when I can, maybe ill invest in LR, camburg, or total chaos uca's. But as of now im happy of the way it turned out and dont plan on beating it up anytime soon so, hopefully everything lasts till that time comes!
