I think that when you are so hell bent on the whole issue like you seem to be, You are much more likely to intervene when a conflict arises because you are carrying a weapon so why not right? False courage because you got a gun and nobody is going to tell you what to do right? You never answered my question about shooting someone or how often you pulled your weapon out to settle a conflict.
I am not against anybody carrying a weapon only you seem to think it's gonna come down a quick draw scenario where if you had to chamber a round in your 45 acp, you were going to get killed because it took .5 seconds longer to squeeze off a round or two. That's paranoid. Have a nice day:)

Do you have a fire alarm in your house? Ever used it? Makes you feel warm and fuzzy though when you sleep at night. What about a CO detector? Ever use it? How many times are fire sprinklers used in american schools? Not that many i bet... but they are still there. Quietly waiting for the day they need to jump into action. What if ppl said "hey its a waste of water to have these fire sprinkler lines charged all the time.... lets wait till there is actually a fire to run outside and turn the valve on. The pipes might freeze and bust if they have water in them". Pretty dumb to think that way right? Wake up america!!!!!

    Story goes like this.

A guy goes to a professional firearms instructor for training. A very highly respected trainer in his community.
This guy becomes a student of this master of craft.

In order to attend said training he must drive about 6 hours to attend training. After training, he heads home. He stops at a 7-11. Leaves his gun in his truck. Gets robbed, and shot outside 7-11. Student dies.

Moral of the story, the fight chooses you, and always carry your fucking gun if you legally can.

Why do people think there is a movement out there to take everyone's guns away? Did I miss something? I live in a state that is strict and I never heard anyone try to take away guns here before. It will NEVER ever happen.

Only criminals WANT to use a gun, the rest of us would rather not if there is another choice. At the end of the day, who's life is worth more to you - yours or the person who's threatening you or your family? I will admit there are people out there who, when the time comes, will freeze and not be able to pull the trigger at the critical moment. Let's hope no one here experiences that. There are others who refuse to put themselves in that situation and not own/carry a gun at all, their position is "I'd rather die than take a life." That's fine as long as you've thought through it and would rather not carry the burden of taking a life at the expense of losing your own or someone you love. There is a price for everything in life and we each need to decide for ourselves the price we're willing to pay.

I'd recommend the book "On Killing: The Psychological Cost of Learning to Kill in War and Society" by Lt Col Dave Grossman as a primer on the damage having to kill someone has on the human psyche. It'll be an eye opener for most. It's kind of a boring read unless you're into statistics and war history, but it's tolerable to anyone with an attention span greater than a gnat. It was recommended to me by the instructor of my concealed carry class a few years back, he is a former LEO whose partner experienced a complete breakdown after an on-the-job shooting.

Seems you can own a gun in California. what is your point?
Please save me the trouble and tell where you cannot own a gun in America. Some places ban carrying them but I think everyone is allowed to own them. No?
