Your gonna have to get a drop bracket lift to go any higher...Or a long travel...

okay so i know this will probably sound dumb but why cant you do a leveling kit on top of the lift?

i think its because the stock suspension travels 4" either way from stock height. adding 3" lift will leave you with 1" down travel then when you stack another lift on top you over extending your wheel travel..and safety issue

    chris4x4 whats the reason?

that gives a great reference but when you start looking around they list their sizes and sometimes they are off a little bit sometimes there is a difference of an in or so. looked up 285/75 then cant remember the tire i looked at but the size was almost an in off, not that big of a deal but and in is an in

Did you have the correct rim size for both selections?

Rim size is important- as is understanding what the numbers mean

    My tires are 285/70R17s.

    This number means:
    285- tread WIDTH in mm
70- Ratio of Width to SIDEWALL HEIGHT
    R17- Rim Size.

So you can get a 285/50 or a 285/75 and they will be WILDLY different sizes.

when i looked up 285/75 for 16's there were tires at like 32.83" but then i found one that was 32 and another 33 and change. but it is a good basis to start you tire selection
