Pulled it toward the front then loosened the 17mm in the middle and separated the mounts.

Yea the shop wants more time ( & money ) so looks like I'll do it myself.

If I were to charge an install price knowing what I know from installing the first set, I would probably ask for 3 - 4 hours labor allotted. It's an extremely simple R&R it's just such a tightly cramped working space...thanks Toyota lol. We did the install with harbor freight tools and a floor jack with a block of wood under the oil pan. Long socket extensions, box wrenches, and a lot of fine tuning adjustments this way and that way! Trust me it can be done. Getting the motor in the right place with the floor jack or cherry picker is half the battle. The motor will move around a lot when unbolted from the mounts, you can jack it up and make quite a bit of room. a long centering prybar or nail will help to line up the holes in the frame perch mounts when lowering the motor on the frame perches.

Well got it done yesterday, took about 3.5 hrs. The two 14mm bolts that go to the frame side were a PITA, especially the one toward the front of the truck.

So far there is some more vibes at idle, but nothing I can't deal with. Throttle response is better and truck feels more solid.

BTW: @Bonzen The mounts fit perfect, I did each side one by one,( without loosening the other ) and everything fit and lined up perfect.

Awesome. I like hearing that every time, it means that I designed a user friendly part and it also means my weld fixture is spot on. Really cool that you didn't even have to loosen the other side to bolt the driver side in..thats even better than I expected. Thanks for the post and for the business!

Don't forget to put a socket on those block bolts from time to time to make sure they're staying tight!

So feeling a little too lazy to sort back through all of this thread, The solid motor mounts are available and are fully bolt on for $400 right? What's the lead time on getting a set? The trans mount for the 2wd's is done, but the 4wd mount is still a work in progress?

I ask because I am going to be doing an engine swap soon-ish and it sounds like it will be a lot easier to install the mounts when the engine is sitting on a hoist.

Solid motor mounts are per engine, 2WD/4WD make no difference. The Trans mounts are different between 2WD Auto/2WD Manual /4WD Auto/ 4WD Manual.

If the one used for a conversion would work I would give him mine to use. It won't, because you have to modify an OEM to work on the conversion.
