What are some of the better brands of RTT's?

Haha this is another benefit of a rtt. We have a shell too but with the short bed and me being 6'2" it doesn't exactly fit me well while sleeping. I had a 95 toyota t-100 that I used to sleep in the bed with the shell all the time, absolutely loved it. Only thing that sucked was having to unload the bed to sleep but that's not a big issue.

well just got the sleeping platform built for her!

the center plywood comes out and can be put on the floor so that taller things can be put in the bed still. i still need to put the carpet on it but i still have some things i need to cut out before doing that.

    The pup like it!

My experience is anything air can get under, like a RTT, will actually be colder. But the nice thing about an RTT is you can have a lot of thermal insulation underneath you.

Awesome, I need to build one of these for my 4runner. Solves a lot of storage issues.

I thought that would be a problem but its not. I think my RTT is actually warmer most nights. Think of all of the moisture thats seeping up from the ground, directly into your tent, you don't get that up on the roof. Yes, you're up in the air but the base of the tents are insulated so it doesn't have a nagative affect on the interior or occupants.

haha yea im actually working on culling down all my tools and stuff as is. i can barely lift my old toolbox with what i call the "essentials" in it. theni have a whole other tote with other shit. but yea i was going to do drawers, but i like this design because i need that tall space pretty often. my original design had 2 big drawers in them. i can always add some later if my needs change.

yea this is my first platform and cap so im playing with all the options. i like it though. i work and live on a boat a lot so if you can imagine, the amount of headroom i have in the cap after the platform, is about double what im used to. so im basically in a mansion!
