Hey guys I have a 2005 Tacoma base model 4x4 and I recently put a 6 inch rough country suspension lift and had brand new tires on it and within 6 months the inside of both front tires were almost worn out completely but the rest of it was fine. Need some help what's doing it and how do I fix it?

I've gotten a alignment pretty much every month Bc I do a lot of off roading when I hunt plus I deal with New Orleans Louisiana pot holes so that can't be it, and I'm always checking the air pressure to at least once every 2 months. Some guy mentioned I should get some offset upper control arms but I don't want to spend the money on that unless I know it's going to fit my problem

Ummm if you NEED an alignment about every month than I think we have found the problem.

Post an alignment spec sheet if you want to know if you need upper control arms.

It's not that I need it I'm just very anal with my stuff so I get my stuff checked and rotated very often or before it really should be, I'll have to get it next time

    Alignment every month.

Every alignment is bad if you burnt the tires out in 6 months.

Think I should try someone else for a alignment then? Recommend more of an offroad place that does alignments? I'm sure most places are use to just all stock vehicle

    I don't have a clue where you're located.

You shouldn't need UCAs with that drop bracket lift. But it's Rough Country so who knows.

Well this is the first time in having this problem, I have 2 other vehicles with rough country and both lasted with no problems so I went with it again, have any other ideas? Offset UCAs help you align it better if it has the adjustments on it right?

The alignment printout should tell you the issue with your tires. Post it here.

    Yes.

But your lift shouldn't need them so I'm wondering why it does.

Either it's because RC isn't right, install isn't right, or alignment isn't right.

    My bet is alignment.

LR UCAs are $375. If you do need them.

Well I'd say you need an eccentric kit so your passenger side caster can be adjusted properly.
I'd also request that your toe not be set to the upper level of "spec".

A new eccentric will fix your caster, but judging by that particular printout I'm not sure why your tires are wearing faster on the inside.

Would you mind sending me a link where to buy this stuff if you don't mine? I like top of the line stuff that last so not really worried about price, how long you think it takes to replace it? Should I bring it to someone I don't have a bunch of time

You said you recently put the 6" lift on, correct? Seeing that it is a drop bracket lift you would have had to remove the lower control arm bolts and cams to install the drop bracket. If they were seized you would have had to cut the bolts out -- the alignment paper also says "eccentric maxed out."

The alignment spec are absolute trash. If the LCA cams are absolutely maxed out, then you need an aftermarket upper control arm with built in positive caster.

I was barely able to get positive caster out of my setup with stock upper control arms so I put desert products UCA's on the truck. I now have 3.2 degrees of positive caster and the truck drives great.

I would suggest aftermarket UCA's on any truck with 1.5" or more lift.

it's possible but that wouldn't happen overnight, especially if he gets an alignment every month.

he would have had to remove the bolt and cam to remove the control arm.
