That sounds like too much work But the end result would be worth it.

 

I haven't had Nanaimo Bars in FOR-EV-ER. My Aunt used to make them. soooo delicious

 

I only had them a few times when I was sent to Canada for a month. Never even knew the name of them until one night on here talking to Brandan... he gave me the name and I went and found a recipe and SSSSSSSSOOOOOOOOO good. I took some in to work for them to try and got told that will be their Christmas gift

 

We baked some cookies lastnight. They was yummy

 

The family has a recipe somewhere... I need to dig it up. My Mom's side of the family lives in BC so I've even been to Nanaimo. I love Vancouver Island.. need to go back now that I'm older so I can appreciate it more.

I made it once with fresh pumpkin. It just took way too long and was kind of a PITA. Mike didn't notice a taste difference with the fresh pumpkin vs the canned so I'm going canned.

The funny thing is... whenever I bake something, I have NO interest in eating it. I'm weird.

You know, I never realized you're in Victoria! My mom was born in Trail and most of the family lives in Quesnel and Prince George. Mom lives in Washington state now but if I'm ever up that way, I'll let you know!
