I'm looking into some UCAs for my new TRD OR AC and can't really tell much of a difference. Any Suggestions?
    • Camburg 1.25" uniball
    • Icon uniball
    • Total Chaos
    • Light Racing
Is one of these better than the others? Is there something else I should be looking at?
If price is not a factor... which one is better and why?

Yeah, I will probably call a couple places before ordering. BUT... if anyone has any opinions they would like to share... much appreciated.

If you don't plan on wheeling heavily, get light racing. Best bang for your buck.

Many people besides me have had very good results with LR.

I have heard good things about the LR's and if spending a little more for TC's, Camburgs or Icons won't provide any more benefit, I'll probably go with the LRs. BUT... I would like to be able to do some good wheeling as I live in the mountains and about 2.5 hours from Moab - tons of opportunity around here, so I may end up getting into it more. That being said... I'm not currently a heavy wheeler.

There have been some issues with LR UCAs on 2nd Gen Tacomas. Look at the 2nd Gen section.

Some people have had a good experience with them, and others not so good.

    Example:

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/spc-light-racing-ucas.278381/

On the other hand, others have had problems with uniball UCAs such as TC, Icon, Camburg with noise and squeaking or short life from the uniball. Personally, I have over 55k on the uniball in my TC UCAs and have not had any noise. Lots of salt, snow, dust and mud with no issues.

Camburg also has a ball joint UCA that you might want to investigate if a uniball is not the way you want to go.

I have had the Light Racing UCA's with the new Spec Ride bushings and they failed. They also cracked as well. Currently I have the newer version of the Camburg Ball Joint type UCA's If you are going to get into wheeling some say the LR are just fine I will not trust them again. With my new 2015 it is strictly a Pavement Princess but I love the fact of not having to try and find a place that doesn't look at it say. " What is all that adjustable mess, never dealt with those before." When it comes to the LR UCA's, if you are in a high salt and snowy section I would go against any uni ball type. Being exposed to the corrosive areas will probably ruin prematurely. You could also look at the new JBA High Caster UCA's @Blackout14 he can give you tons of info on those. I like my Camburgs and I am at 2.7 Caster per side and 0.5 Positive Camber on both sides. And here it is done.

Yeah apparently reading the instructions that the LR UCAs come with is asking way too much for most "install tech" :D

Some info on SPC (Light Racing) UCAs:
The spec ride bushings were changed a while back, like years ago. The newest most important change made to these arms was the arms themselves. The forward facing tubing has a new bend which was changed to help alleviate the stress seen at the welds. Most are not aware of this and always talk about the bushings. I'd say if you are interested in these arms perhaps talk to the manufacturer (SPC) directly to get the most accurate up to date information. Though there's a lot of good info on here and a lot of people have experience with many of these UCAs, getting accurate info form the manufacture is also a good idea.

Just lifted my truck 3" and I'm interested in installing LR UCA's. I'm trying to figure out an exact price. I've emailed Head Strong to get a quote. Their site says $375.99. Anyone know if that is for the pair or for one control arm? I'm a novice, obviously.
