I've looked at the basic ones at the auto parts store, and they all seem a bit too big for my 1st gen. I need something that's comfortable for travel and also protective from mud and debris. What do you guys have?

Cheap rubber ones from WallyWorld. I tried the Weather Tec ones in a Mini I used to own, hated 'em.

Hard as a rock, slid all over and that was in the Texas heat.

I have huskys in mine. Love them. I wear converse a lot and the cloth bottom of them hold water, the water will stay on my mats for at least 2 days. I like how the are like a cup also instead of flat like the Walmart ones, keeps everything in it

+1 for Husky Liners. Very happy with them in both trucks I've owned ('92 Toyota Pickup and '04 Tacoma).

I've installed my Husky liners since my truck was brand new. Work awesome.

Definitely husky. Weather tech doesn't make a custom fit mat for 1st gen.

    Husky is drop-in custom.

Personally I like factory floor matts. Just slapped a new factory set and my interior feels like new.

I also liked the OEM all-weather mats I used to have in the Tacoma. Unfortunately, I believe they're out of production.

I have Weather-Tech Liners in my 1st gen and they fit great. Wouldn't have it any other way! I do remember reading somewhere they don't fit a doublecab 1st gens though. Only x-cabs and reg-cabs.

I have the DCSB. I was looking into Husky Liners, but, man, almost $200 for the set is a bit pricy when I could trim some generic ones.

According to their website, yes. $180 is too pricy for me for the set, however. I'm not convinced they're of that much value to me in comparison to others.

Weathertech has laser-measured liners for the regular and Xtracab but not the double cab.

Its interesting.. I have a 2000 Tacoma extracab PreRunner, and Weathertech doesn't realize that the first generation went from 1995 to 2004... if you look for years 2000 and earlier, they only offer the 'you cut to fit' type, but if you look for 2001 to 2004, you get the product that has edges and contains liquids better.
