Appreciate it. Certainly strange to rub with a tire that's at most, roughly equal width to stock tires. Though I'm not sure what width the ORs came with. Can't really even remember what my Sport came with bc I slapped 265s on there pretty quickly after buying it, but I want to say they were 245 dunlops? I'm sure someone knows and can correct me if needed.

But it sounds like you're rubbing not just the UCA, so I wouldn't expect that changing that out to solve all your rubbing. I didn't measure between the stock UCA and the JBA UCA, but I'm guessing that they both protrude about the same distance from the UCA mount towards the inside of the tire.

Original OR tire was 265/70/16. I upgraded to 265/75/16. That rubbed only during hard wheeling at full lock, was really minor, and I never figured out where...

But the 255 taller tire is turnung out to be more work to make 100% clearance.

I'm gonna look at doing a temp mod of steering stop as a bandaid for now.

May have to get diff wheels long term though.
I'll switch wheels before running spacer. One less thing to go wrong, 30 miles from pavement in Death Valley. :D

But i do agree they should work...

Okay back to JBA business... Subbed to hear more results and tdcampbe's resolution, etc.

I'll snap some pics tonight guys. I really don't want to run spacers. Esp when all I really need a 1/4 inch and that would mean a floating spacer. No thanks. If I jumped up to 1"-1.5" that will set the tires out too far from the trucks and I'll look like one of those guys... No thanks to that either.

I will probably just let it ride. I think the main problem is how beefy the st Maxx's are. It's really not a bad rub at all. If i do get spacers, that will require a cmc and I'm not interested in that. If it bothers me too bad, I will get some 255/80's.

isn't that mostly because of the backspacing on the OR rims?

edit: nm, I see you covered that on your next post

Put the new arms on yesterday and went and got an alignment this morning. Results were what I was hoping for and other than a slight pull to the right, I'm extremely happy with the results. Was told that the caster was maxed out at these numbers but I would have been happy with numbers in the 2.5 degree range. Truck will get a decent work out today and this week so if anything changes I'll post it up. Will likely take it back to get the slight pull dialed out but don't expect it to change the caster numbers dramatically, if at all.

Pics of the rub. It's really now bad at all. I'm contributing it to the beefiness of the ST Maxx's. You can see it's not actually touching here. It only touches when it is at full lock where the steeling wheel will not turn any further. When you let go of the steering wheel, they then back slightly and do not touch anymore. I believe I am going to let it ride. I have not off-roaded anything serious yet when the new wheels and tires. If it gets worse when off-roading, I will have to go a different route but I really don't think it's going to be a big enough problem to worry about.

Hi everyone, I just got done reading this whole thread and marlin seems like a very good guy. I have a question I hope you guys can answer. I plan on lifting the front of my truck 2 inches and don't know if I should go with the high caster a-arms or the normal jba a-arms? The jba website says the the normal jba's are good up to 2 inches of lift. If I go with the high caster a-arms is it possible to have to much caster and not be able to get it close to 2.5 because I only plan on lifting 2 inches? Thank you for the help.

I'm in the 2 inch lift area and I went with the high caster ones just to be safe. They were the same price so I did not see anything wrong with that. If I decide to go a bit higher later on, I know I can with the higher caster ones. :)

I installed 5100's with OME 885x set @ 0 last night. Took it into the alignment shop this morning, and the numbers we wayyy out of wack. The tech got me as close as he could, but he recommended I should get some aftermarket UCA's. He actually recommended JBA's b/c he has a lifted Jeep Liberty.

I ordered a set today, hopefully by the end of the week, I'll receive them and get them installed by the weekend.

I wanted to amend something I wrote. I had forgotten this detail but I feel it's worth mentioning... The Toyo tires I have a larger than most other tires in the tall and skinny category. And that would explain why my tires are rubbing the frame with stock TRD OR wheels. And other tall and skinny tire owners from different manufactueres don't have that issue. This was pointed out to me in the 255/85/R16 thread. Just wanted to clear that up.

Whelp installed the new arms. Here's my numbers: edf7871949c33c649fc070be7ae55f3c_3c7ea268c099e0f4cf00717b5a37325802b4a42b.jpg

I'm finally happy with my alignment! Truck drives so much better, there's no drift to the right or left, slight wheel wobble, though...but I'll figure that out later. These new arms are the real deal, which is great since it's the 3rd time I put JBA UCAs on my truck in the last year. Glad Marlin got the product right!

Glad to hear it. I searched back in the thread, you're still running the OME lift with 885 coil and shock? What wheels and tire size you running? Any issues with rubbing UCA? Thanks.
