My '09 wiper blades on my Taca are the originals and only recently show signs of wear (garaged with 41k miles). I started looking for new ones and I can't believe the prices. I haven't bought blades in 10 or more years. Are these new ones $18 - $20 apiece or am I reading the prices wrong? Looks like I need one 22" and one 21".

Go to a parts store instead of shopping online.

My only local store options are Advance, Autozone and Walmart. I went to both Advance and Autozone. They both have the same assortment of Duralast, Bosch, Trico and Rainx. I don't know squat about which brand to buy. I ask the clerks at both stores for help. They tell me that the cheap ones on one end of the aisle and the more expensive are on the other end. I ask if any work better than the others and got an, "I don't know" from both stores. The store prices didn't seem much better that what I am finding online. I will search more on Amazon. I am a Prime member and get free two day shipping.

My OEM Toyota blades have lasted 7 years. Anyone have any idea what Toyota charges for their blades? Mine have never made a noise, just streaking some now.

I recommend PIAA Super Silicone, best wiper blades I've ever used. Get from Amazon. I too was surprised at the current prices. The PIAA Super Silicone are refillable too. Bosche blades didn't last a year.

I would call your dealer and ask for the parts department what they charge for blades.

We don't have a clue what they cost in Your Town, Kentucky.

AutoZone, Advance, Walmart.. they'll all sell the same blades if you don't need OEM.

If you do need OEM, go to your dealer or call ahead and check prices.

Costco usually has them on the cheap. $12. I bought some 16" the other day at the auto parts store for $16/each.

After doing more searching I am finding them for lower prices than I had initially found. Plus doing a search using the Toyota part # I am finding the OEM for about $11 each plus $8 shipping. I have a dealer discount coupon and will check with them tomorrow.

    Thanks everyone for the input.

Asking what brand of wipers to use will get you as many opinions as asking what brand of oil or oil filter to use. I run $15 Bosch Icons because I like the look of the beam blades. :D I haven't found them to perform any better or worse than the OEM ones.

Buy inserts at your Toyota dealer. They're inexpensive and work fine.

I got the wipers with frame at my dealer for $12.95 each with a 10% discount coupon and they had them in stock. These have the U hook arms and are the easiest wipers that I have ever changed. No tools required, just lift on the tab under the arm and the old slides right off even with my fat fingers.

Ok, help me out here. I have been changing wiper blades myself for 50 years. I changed the blades on my '09 Taco last week with OEM blades. Easy on and off hook connections. I double checked the part #s before installation and matched the blade lengths. Today I take it out for the first time in the rain. The driver side blade squeaks on the upstroke and the passenger side squeaks on the downstroke and does a thump at the bottom. The plastic piece in the blade frame that the arm hook slips over can rotate 180° in the frame. Is there a chance I could have installed these upside down?

They only fit one way, so.. probably not.

I don't think the blades themselves are oriented in any kind of direction, anyway - they are neutral. Flex the same going up, flex the same going down.

So, not a single squeak with the old blades in 7 years. First time out with the new OEM replacements and they both squeak. So, what does that tell me? New OEM blades suck? I never had that happen with the cheapest blades.
