Stopped by Toyota dealer here in DFW metroplex to check out a 16 DCSB 4x4 Texas edition I spotted from the road, just to kind of stick my nose around it since I am somewhat interested in them. I took one look at the sticker and damn near fell on my ass laughing.

    Sticker 36k

    Add ons:

    Tint 299
    Paint protection 299
    LoJack 599
    Pinstripe 299

    New price: 39,500

The hell kind of math is that?! And to top it off, the damn truck didn't even have pin stripes!

Salesman said they won't budge on the price one single penny since these trucks are considered "premium trucks for a cheap price and will sell themselves no matter the price"

Just hopped back in my taco and drove off shaking my head...

Wow that actually is a pretty good deal for Dallas. There are a few other threads I have commented on about the price gouging here in the DFW area. I bought mine from Rockwall Toyota and they were awesome .... I paid MSRP, but it came with a "green" package from the dealership that included tinting, nitro in tires, wheel locks etc. I never owned a Toyota because of the dealerships in DFW and their bad reputation for price gouging and bait and switch techniques.

Absolutely love my Taco .... 6200 miles and a consistent 16 mpg. Wish mileage wss higher but it is what it is.

299 for tint. Should be 125
299 for pinstripes. Roll cost 12.50
    Paint protection meaning wax lol.

    Wow

Please ask them to show you the paint protection process being applied. I want to see it happen because I don't think they even put wax on it.

Also, tell them they are committing fraud by charging for a pin stripe when there is no pin stripe

You mean paying 3000 dollars for wheels, tires, and tube steps when the distributor KEEPS your original wheels and tires which people on here easily sell for around 900-1200 dollars?

    lol

Doesn't Texas and Mississippi both fall under GST? Other than the math they gave you not adding up to $39.5k, our area is getting $500 rebates on 3rd gen Tacomas and has been for a while...

    ON EDIT:

Pasted below is the deal I was thinking of...and Texas is in GST. Guess the dealer didn't want to sell you a truck OR he's thinking he's going to get more. I just can't see Toyota offering it on a unit that it doesn't need to offer it on....

    Off Toyota.com inventory search.

    Offer Details
$500 Bonus Savings from GST on a new 2016 Special Edition Tacoma. Must take delivery from dealer stock. Dealer sets final price. Offer valid 12-01-2015 through 01-04-2016 in AR, LA, MS, OK, TX. Contact Dealer for details.,Offer Excludes TRD Pro Edition.

Texas tries to pile on the price with their Texas Edition and TSS trucks smacked on to an SR5 package. Silly, IMO.

299 for tint isn't too horrible around here but it depends on the tint. I am looking at about 250-350
