    Back in the early '90's, a dirt bike club I belonged to at the time bought the property that is now Dirty Turtle. The first few times I rode there, I ricocheted off of every rock in the place at least once. From what I remember, there were some very steep, rocky hills, a motocross track on the high ground, and the place seemed VERY small on a dirt bike. I can't recall much terrain that would be suited for anything but rock crawlers, but again, that was 24+ years ago.... The only time we've been there in trucks, it was for a rock bouncer event. There was a tragic accident that morning and a woman was killed. They shut the place down for the day and we went home before I got to see much of the place. I do know they draw big crowds due to it's close proximity to Louisville.

    If you decide to go, let me know. If the schedule permits, I'll be happy to go too. I'd like to see the place again.

    I'm gonna go to DTOR soon, just don't quite know when. I'd like to see how much of it I remember. IIRC, when we rode bikes there, it was a good place to ride when the ground was frozen. I'm less than an hour from DTOR, so it would be ridiculous NOT to go at least once more...

    I'm trying (half heartedly) to get a group together for a New Years Day trip to Harlan. So far no takers. I may just pull the plug on that in a day or two if no one speaks up. If so, I may go to Dirty Turtle on the 1st just to play around a little bit. I'll post here if that happens.

    And....I got home from work about 2 hours ago. In the daylight, I could see a few more scratches, and a couple I thought I had rubbed out by hand showed up again. So....Crank up the buffer! No more scratches. I took advantage of the 70 degree temps and threw a coat of wax on it. Ready to go knock off some more paint!

    Wilderness Trail Offroad Park in southeastern KY. Apparently the land has been bought up and will be turned in to a Nature Preserve.

    I'm still pretty uncomfortable with the off camber stuff. Watching you turn around I knew it wasn't even close to rolling but the clinch factor is still there.

    We were at clinch factor 3 if I recall. Played it off as a clinch factor 1 to Amy of course.

    I've just about undone the full sphincter lock after the turn-around.....I got a few pretty good scratches on the back down/turn around. Buffed 'em out yesterday....Back to normal. Ready to go scrape off some more paint......just not on THAT hill!
