    I was a little disgruntled to find out that I have to replace the entire control arm, just to replace a warn out ball joint. It is what it is though, so hoping to find a decent deal from one of you guys versus Napa and all those chains...

    Will they be used if so what sorta miles are on them? Mine aren't bad yet, but I'm starting to get this squeak over bumps more frequently now. It hasn't started popping/clunking in hard turns like my old trooper did.

    You can get Moog replacement LCA ball joint. Look on Amazon.

    Why did you replace your LCAs? I'm thinking about replacing with the Moog or Dorman, but I have heard they bushings can wear out prematurely.

    I didn't replace the LCA, just the ball joint, because they we worn out. I also did the bushings, but that was a separate issue (frozen cam bolts.

    Today I replaced my driverside LCA with the
    $116 Dorman 522-719 Front Driver Side Lower Suspension Control Arm and Ball Joint Assembly Compatible with Select Toyota Models
    Dorman 522-719 due to a bad lower ball joint. I am just at 107k miles which seems to be when this start going. Due to my limited time and money this time of the year, I figured if I was going to pull it all out with frozen rear cam bolt then I am going to replace it all. As a direct swap the Dorman was the lesser dollar than genuine Toyota part so I chose it. The extra time to press the ball joint and bushing in and out would just piss me off after dealing with the frozen cam bolt. As is it took me the better part of an hour to free that one damn bolt.

    The dorman replacement def looked as good in quality as OEM. It was an easy swap in with no fitment issues. It did resolve my squealing ball joint. I have 1 mile on it so I can not report on the future durability of it. Alignment is tomorrow morning. That is all I can add to this thread.

    Good to know. I'm at 105,000 miles myself. Hopefully my P/S LCA stays functional at least until the second half of 2016 before giving out. Driving home to Nevada from MS early next year, so I think I'll just do my D/S LCA then when its REALLY worn down. I've had bad ball joints before that clunked and popped. Right now its just the squeaks on uneven roads so I think I'm safe until then.
