    Bob, mods, TW,

This website is awesome, from learning about my truck, to hobbies and current events, this website has it all. It is the best, most clear, and active forum I have ever been on. I do however feel that there is one thing that could use massive improvement and that is the search function.

I see a ton of threads every day with new guys asking "whats the biggest tire on stock rim??" We all sigh, answer and tell the new member to use the f#&$ing search. But have you ever used it? Its awful. It rarely directs you to a useful thread.

I have located a far better search function. Going to google, typing "tacomaworld biggest tire stock rim" yields excellent results for example. It lists a ton of tacomaworld threads with those titles and topics.

Is there any way we can get that functionality without having to go outside TW? I feel that not only would we rid ourselves of new guys asking the same question over and over leaving only with frustration, the rest of us could get some solid search results, and not the silliness that usually turns up.

    Thanks.

I also use google to search TW instead of using tw's search function.

Out of all of the other forums out there i thought this one had the best search function.

Clicking the button for "search titles only" helps alot to get threads specific with the key words you are looking for rather than someone in a bs thread mentioning something with the same key word.

Also if you click "More..." you get a new pop of with alot of features to help refine your search.

I actually never noticed that feature. Good to know. However the google search still yields better results. Using the example of "biggest tire on stock rim" TW search gives 5 results. Google gives pages and pages of relevant results.

Who knows maybe my TW Search Fu is not strong enough haha

Well google has 57,000+ employees. There are only volunteers here, and only one programmer.

Awesome! Thanks Bob. And just to reiterate, I still think this is the best website on the internet.

The biggest thing I find is to not be too exact with your search. Makes the results a little bit more broad but at the same time can help you find more information on the same subject
