I am going to upgrade my stock tires and these are the two types of tires I have been researching. Any opinions? or am I missing out on an even better option?

Cooper AT3 or ATP's. The only other option I would consider is Michelin AT2's.

First month of ownership... This month I'm removing front air dam, and also Rhino lining the bed.
Don't like the KO2's. Thankfully they still sell the KO's.

I've got 265/70/17 K02 in LR C, don't like them. Liked the K02 275/70/17 LR E but it was to heavy for the truck over 55mph in my opinion. Haven't taken either off road but I feel sure the LR E would have been very nice, rode like a dream.
Pretty sure I'm going to try AT3 in 275/70 LR C, but I'm going to do some more research first.

I am looking at getting the same AT3. I currently have the AT3 in 285/70 LR E and think they are just too much tire for what I want/ need.

I've had the Cooper AT3 in 265/75r16 load range C on since Jan, great in snow, never slip in rain, a tad bit heavier but they are 3/4" more in diameter than the Rugged fails

Ko2s are better overall in performance compared to the original KOs. The original is a dated design that does not incorporate a lot of the new technology that we use today. It is also known to have terrible hydroplaning. Based on performance alone, there is no comparison between the KO and KO2. The later being the better performing tire....hands down. Do your research.

I would personally look at the Cooper STT Max...one of the better overall tires you can buy.

I have the AT3'3 and think they suck in the snow. Changing over to Goodyear Authority soon

Hmm.. you're the first person I've heard who doesn't like them. Dad has them on his F150 work truck, FIL on his F350, mom in her Jeep, neighbor on his Silverado, all say they're good in snow. My brother in law has the ToyoAT2 on his silverado, if I didn't buy the Cooper I would've got the toyo as they were same price.

I had the AT3's, great tire in moderate off road and snow, not real good on ice. Just switched to Hankook Dynapro ATm. Much smoother tire on road, snow flake rated, more quiet and cheaper. 20150828_152615.jpg 20150829_163242.jpg

Just till old stock is sold, they have been discontinued. Discount tire says they are out in TX and can't get anymore.

I've had good luck with my AT3's so far. Actually, I like the snow/dirt traction ok, but have slipped multiple times on wet AND dry pavement. Heck, I spun the rear wheels trying to start at a traffic light the other day and it was about 95 degrees and dry. I've also slid when trying to make a fairly quick stop on dry roads. It doesn't happen often, but enough to make me look at another tire for next time.

They seem quiet, and look good so I'm not itching to get new tires any time soon.

    subbed for more feedback.

I am also interested in the comparison between the KO2's and AT-3. On my third set of KO, but thinking of switching over to a set of Cooper Tires. I've read reviews that the A/T-3 perform better than the old KO's. That's what got me to thinking about switching over. I've been considering either the S/T and the S/T Maxx, over the AT-3, because of the lack of 3-ply sidewall of the AT-3.

I have the AT3s, great do it all tire and one of the best wet tires.....
Mud, dirt, snow, sand, towing and rain....
They have a stiff sidewall and have a sport feel so they are great on the road...
You need to get them spinning off road to work but they work good...
Even in mud they spin a little, get hot and bite hard....
In snow you have to air down to 30-32 because they are stiff... I air down and put some bags of salt in the back and never have a problem..
Their only weakness is slick snow and ice because of the stiff sidewalls...

My buddy has the ST maxx....
The ST maxx are better off road but worse on road and are tougher.........
Much better in sand and feel softer on the road than the AT3s...
Need to re inflate when back on the road, softer side wall...
Can run the AT3 at 28-30 on and off road with no problems....

I don't off road but do have to mess with snow. I wanted a decent road and winter month AT tire that possessed a modern tread block pattern, didn't weigh a lot (p metric), carried the possibility of being fairly quiet on the road, and looked aggressive. The at3's at their price point met my requirements well.

so the AT -3 are good in the snow? I read somewhere that they don't work that well and the S/TMaxx work better. but, that's just what I read.

They're ok for snow on paved roads. I never get off road so I'm sure the st max would be more capable there. I always felt throttle control played the biggest part no matter what tires you're running!

I just had the AT-3s installed last week. Having prior experience with the ATPs on my 01' 4Runner,i expect no less from the AT-3s. Go to Ebay for the best pricing. I got mine on Cyber Monday for $524 shipped, plus a $75 gift card.

Had the AT3 on for a year, ~5k miles, no issues for me in snow. I can only compare them to the stock rugged fails, which sucked in anything but dry pavement. They will spin in the rain if you try to take off too fast, that's any tire on our trucks because the bed weighs next to nothing.
