Saw three bucks in velvet on last years overgrown food plot yesterday evening around 8pm. Gonna be a good year :fingerscrossed:

Hope to get drawn for Coues whitetail again this year. Hope to see more than the "doe show" this year.

It's always a hurry-up-and-wait scenario this time of the year. Have to get applications in on time and the draw results seem to take longer and longer to be released. I'm still waiting to hear on South Dakota Black Hills and West River deer and on antelope. I did already get drawn for Wyoming antelope and cow elk. Busy summer though. Lots of camping and several shooting comps. Good luck to everyone on their draw results.

Y'all have to raffle for deer?! That sucks. We get to pop 9 does and 2 bucks each year here in GA! We do have to raffle for alligator, though. GA's few gators are in Savannah, and they don't dole out too many permits. I had a friend get drawn a few years ago and they killed a 9 footer:

Also, here's some pics off the trail camera since Jan (note the 3-legged deer in Feb & March:

I hear ya. I grew up in NC. Hunted NC, SC and AL. I much prefer the mid-west and western hunting now. Drawing for tags out here is just part of the deal. Too many folks want to come out west to hunt.

Yep drawing for tags kind of stinks, especially if you want to go for something like antelope or elk. Those are more difficult draws in Arizona. Coues whitetail and mule deer are easier draws though.

Anyone here have experience hunting state game land 57 in Pennsylvania? Just southwest of Tunkahannuck pa.. Planning a trip there for white tail this season. Any tips (not looking for your Spot) would be appreciated!

All I've seen so far is a doe with her two fawns, and a couple of coons, really disappointing.

That's a nice buck, congrats to the guy who got it.

A friend of mine who has property next to mine (and happens to use the same road in as me) said he saw 3 big bucks standing right near the property line, but I don't have any cameras set up at that end of the property so no pictures to confirm.

I'm really hoping they make their way south to where my stand is.

Part of the reason I'm not seeing moevement is we just built the road into the property and we haven't gotten any good plots, fields, or well hidden stands in because this is the first season we've owned it.

The weather here has sucked. It was in the 70s this week (about 20 degrees above average). The weather has the Rut runing late. There's barely any buck sign anywhere I've been. Monday (when I killed the big 4), I saw 3 bucks; a 3 point, another that I couldn't really see - just saw horns through the pine thicket, and couldn't get on him to get a shot, and that 4 point. Saw a spike and a doe Tuesday, then that 3 point again Saturday morning. I've seen a total of 22 this year.
