Luckily for me i have the e-locke rear! And already have the ARB. It would just be a matter of coming up with the cash. Credit Cards make everything so easy!

(which is why i keep my saving in a harder to reach place otherwise i'd blow the crap out of it lol)

(or i just need the gf to move in and start paying rent, or for three years to go by so she finishes her residency and makes lots of money!)

Did you already do the core return?? I thought you only have like 10 days to do that.
I sold the 4Runner for double I bought it for haha. Trying to get a bigger vehicle.

Hmmm ugh. I can't afford it right now. I just went over new financials and stuff and started being an adult :( I got a nice buffer in my checking account now and a credit card I have to pay off before Nov 2016. The real kicker is if I get this new vehicle I have to borrow an additional 5k from the bank of M&D, they're giving me 0% interest for a year so it's gonna be a pretty big payment with paying them and the bank and the CC and the insurance. Fuck...
Wow I just wrote a lot of words hahaha

But then there's the issue about what to drive while I'm doing that. Like I'm mad I'm gonna have to drive one of my moms cars tomorrow cuz of the wiring I'm doing to my truck :frusty:

Unless thats an ECGS thing Ive never heard of that. Since i just bought the master cylinder for my car and it has a core charge i made sure to ask that since it will be a week till i do that work and O'reilys said it didnt matter as long as you had a receipt and it wasnt something crazy like 6 months later.

You have 3 weeks to return your cores. I know for my CV's from CVJ you had 3 weeks as well to get your core charge back

Though i wonder again if thats a CVJ thing. Or it could even be a part specific thing. I know on the master cylinder i was told pretty much as long as it was "soon" and not 6 months from now they wouldnt care.

Probably varies company to company. I looked on ecgs's website today and it said 3 weeks. Im sure they are lenient, could be a day or 2 over if you give them heads up

Which is understandable. A company like O'reilys im sure cul care less but someone liek CJV or ECGS its a bit bigger of a hit and they dont want to be waiting 6 months

haha If that's the route you decide to go I'm sure we could work something out. I'll ask them about warranty transfers etc tomorrow when I break the news.
Likewise, I cant imagine not working. If money was no issue I'd likely volunteer with forestry or evergreen mtn bike alliance.

Cores have not been sent, so they're holding my $950 for ransom.

The 3week core return policy seem more like a formality. With the holidays around the corner I wasn't sure if I'd have time to install them and was told not to worry about it and just to keep them in the loop.

There's decent money in vehicle flipping, I considered doing it for awhile but backed out due to not wanting to deal with CL people. The 4runner seemed cool but flipping it for double makes sense.

Hopefully they have a good exchange program :) If not we can talk more.

The quick bit of looking I did was all over the place on 4.56's n 285s. Some say its good some say its not lol.

Ive known a few guys who flip cars. Not as a full time job but on the side. One quit doing it due to people on craigslist. The other guy still flips and makes decent money. Both told me they would easily sell for double what they put into it though. Mostly bought salvage title'd cars. Especially older ones could be gotten for cheap and often were totaled out while only needing a grand or two of work but value wise the insurance didnt want to pay it.

More facepalm action? @Greddy you've come to the right place! :drunk:

So I just got off the phone with ECGS and was assured that if I told someone I had 4.88's and let them drive my truck they wouldn't be the wiser that I had 4.56's.

All in all it sounds like the difference is negligible. Still, was told they'd suggest the 88's given my driving style etc but even then it's such a slight difference I'd be splitting hairs. At this point the hassle and expense to send these back to getting 4.88's just doesnt seem worth the $ unless someone local could use them and I'll place a new order.

ECGS's customer support rocks and was told that if I opt to sell these transferring the warranty to the new buyer wouldn't be a big deal at all.

Another factor I didn't include in this equation is rotational mass, not all 35's weight out the same, and this difference can even outweigh the difference between these two gear sets. Food for thought when comparing other peoples setups and their preferences.

Very glad to hear that it's not as bad as you thought haha. I think the 4.56's will be plenty good for you.

Thanks man, just like you said from the get go, haha.
I'm just being overly cautious and over thinking it like I do. All in all I'm coming out of this with way more understanding of how everything works so that's a plus in my book.
