    That is considered to be the better option generally right? That would give me 0.5-1" rake is the only problem, and I'm trying to level. How hard of a DIY install is the blocks vs the AAL?

    Yeah. The install is virtually the same as far as what comes apart. But the aal will give you a better ride and less axle wrap.

    Blocks are never considered a good idea so an aal is ALWAYS considered the better option. Picture your spring perch (the plate welded to your axle tube that your leaf spring sits on) and how your spring is attached to it. There are two u-bolts 6" or so long that tighten the leaf pack to the perch and axle tube. Now extend that attachment point upwards however tall your lift block is. You are creating more leverage at that point the higher you go and creating more instability. By doing so you also create a weak spot. Imagine being on a seesaw built on a 1'x1'x1' tall platform with a friend at a playground and jumping up and down. Pretty fun. Now imagine being on that same seesaw but the platform is 1'x1'x10'. Probably pretty fuckin sketchy and not so fun.
    And no, you have to take the center pin out of your leaf pack to add an aal. You don't to add a block. Don't lie to him ....

    I was going to say, an AAL is not difficult, but blocks are far simpler. For an AAL, c-clamps are your friend. I put a 1" block on my truck until I decide where I want to end up. To install it I never took wheels off and didn't jack the truck up either. Way easier than an AAL.
