    My truck is not parked on completely level ground (drivers side is leaning down hill, exaggerating taco lean) but I threw a tape measure on anyways, and I got 21+5/8" on driver side and 23" on passenger side center hub to fender lip.

    Hub to fender measurements are pretty good for measuring, but there are other variables which can affect measuring this way like the condition of body mounts...

    I have no sway bar. I'll try parking on level ground and remeasuring later today. I'm curious.

    I like those numbers, with a little weight would be between 22.5 and 23 i bet. I appreciate the measures sir! Did u use a lean spacer on the drivers front?

    No. Figured I'd wait until they settle and I install my plate bumper. I'll be installing the Demello Offroad bumper eventually. About 150lbs. That way if I need more or less I can adjust accordingly.

    ya my brute force hybrid is 85-90lbs and then the winch i was looking at is 45lbs plus a few lights maybe 10 lbs. But i have a IFS skid also, so i guess ill wait on the spacer and see. But waiting till tax return to order uca at the same time to swap the springs.

    What wears out a compression spring is a cycle. A cycle is compression and deflection.

    Hey I found four folks running the 886 with 5100 for you.

    @lanning

    @White Bear

    And Colton, @Incognito in his old build here

    And Scott,

    @ERMB in his build here.

    @ERMB what are your ride height measures with 886 and plate. Any spacers in the front?

    I'll have to measure when I get home, what measurement do you want, from where to where? Center of hub to fender or ground to fender?

    23 inches from center of the hub on both sides. I have no spacers for any lean, since I don't seem to have a lean. Ride is firm, but not harsh at all. I have a plate bumper which helps and some armor, but no winch as of yet. I'm sure once that goes in the ride will improve even more. :D overall I'm pretty happy with it, I've got LR UCA's so that helps a lot with alignment issues too.

    been running the 5100/886 setup. my thoughts (can be found in my build thread).

    "Just wanted to provide an update/feedback on a generally frowned upon setup... I've been rolling on the Bilstein 5100s with OME 886s for about 11k miles and have zero complaints. Yes the ride is a bit stiffer (which can be interpreted as harsh) than the 5100/885 combo, but it matches well with my setup (Relentless sliders, IFS, mid, trans 1/4" steel skids, U.S. Offroad winch mount w/ 9000lb Badlands winch) adding a good 500lbs. This setup results in a front lift of just under 3" (2.9") and with the ICON progressive AAL, levels the truck out.

    To the comments about the 5100 no being able to dampen the stiffer 886, I'm not sure I agree. I've tried beating this setup up, hitting speed bumps at 20+ mph, wheeling on NH class VI roads, and mixing in a good bit of Boston roads and highways. Yes the 886 is stiffer and it is noticeable compared to the 885, but it's certainly not rough. I've yet to get a situation where the truck is bobbing/bouncing after a speed bump or pot hole.

    I'm still waiting to see how the 5100s hold up since they already had 40k miles of use with 885s prior to the 886s, but so far, so good.

    My opinion is that though the 5100/886 combo isn't recommended by most offroad sites/shops/vendors, it is certainly functional and not nearly as 'harsh' as many opinions on this site indicate. Remember, it's a stiff spring, it's not going to ride like a soft spring. It works well with my setup, and I'm happy with the results at this price point."

    I concur with everything you just mentioned and I'm sporting the same setup. I'm perfectly content with this combo and for the price you really can't beat it. :cheers:

    I am rocking it with just a skid up front and sliders and it's giving me too much height and my bumper plans were back burner for now. But my fox 2.5 coilovers just arrived and will be on soon. So I'll have some barely used 886 up for sale and 5100 shocks with 19k on them.
