I have a few of them. I sold a couple last month. They were the best short course truck until the Kyosho came out. They share a ton of parts with the T4 so upgrades are easy

Right. Mine had two sets of springs that was a dual rate setup and were stiff. But the Yeti springs are softer and the droop makes it crawl extremely well but unstable at speed.

Hey all...awesome thread. I have been out of the RC game for 20yrs. But now our oldest boy is getting to the age where this could be fun to do together, so I was looking for recommendations.

If we were to build one, whats the best overall kit? Obviously not overly complex so he can be involved would be great. Also, i am leaning towards monster truck style as i think it can take the most beating. Thats how it was when I was a kid at least. Is that still the best option for a kid who will definitely abuse it?

    Thanks guys!

Traxxas Revo is the easiest to maintain because you can get parts anywhere for it. They are garbage for anything but bashing, though. The New Axial Yeti might be fun to bash and it will climb and do other stuff as well

Has anybody had experience with Vaterra?
    I'm looking at this truck
    http://www.horizonhobby.com/product...-twin-hammers-19-rock-racer-rtr-v2-p-vtr03013

    in the kit form
    http://www.horizonhobby.com/cars-an.../1-10-twin-hammers-19-rock-racer-kit-vtr03001

    with a 3300kv 3S setup.
    http://www.horizonhobby.com/product...-1/tazer-1-10-3300kv-esc-motor-combo-dyn4942c

I've already got a monster truck basher and a solid axle slow crawler. I'm looking for something different, not in to cars. This model seemed like a nice in between with 2 speed tranny and ifs front end.. low center of gravity, full roll cage, scale suspension and all that..

I looked at one on the shelf at the lhs and it seems a little smaller than most 1/10th scale but had a good overall appearance to it and seemed well designed.

    Any thoughts or opinions?

I have a twin hammers I'll sell you. It's a roller but with a lot of hop up parts. PM me if you are interested.

The TH is not as large as most other 1/10 scale vehicles.

I just posted it for sale on here. It's been on RCC and RCTech for a few days

Very tempting, lol. I'm more interested in building the kit and the version 2 has cantilever front suspension which I am also interested in, because it's just cool.

How did you like it before you decided to put it up for sale?

Nope, but that's a great habit to get into. It keeps those packs from develop ing a high internal resistance.

I put them in to storage charge after each use, not discharge. You want a lipo to be at 50% charge when not in use.

That's what I meant, discharge for storage

lol, then yes. I discharge/charge to 50% if I won't be using them for a few days.
