The weather has been pretty shitty for a while now but today was pretty clear. I decided to get under the truck and redo all the wiring even though it was still wet out. I tore out pretty much all of the shitty wiring from all of the mods I have done in the past in preparation of installing this:

I will do more tomorrow. I got a decent way into the wiring process but I got held up on the fact that I need this to make it cleaner:

Then I have to finish up the redoing the CMC.

Got some stuff from the Santa in the brown truck.

As soon as my rims get here I'll be getting it all installed.

Drove the highway through hell and lived to tell the tale

Although there was some vehicular carnage along the way and helped tug one guy out of a snow bank.

It's not the side to side spread that matters. Halogen bulbs have a "shield" that prevents the low beam filament from reflecting off of the lower portion of the reflector bowl. This effectively creates a cut-off line where the concentrated light stops. The high beam filament has no shield and is free to reflect off of the entire reflector bowl and has no cut-off line. Most HID bulbs utilize the entire reflector bowl and act just like having the high beams on all the time.

Simple geometry and physics. No spread pattern needed.

The funny thing about that cord is that it says that it is rated for 15 amps max. Number 10 wire can easily handle 25 amps. The plug is the type that will fit into a 15 amp receptacle. That is the real limiting factor. The larger wire will however help prevent voltage drops.

    Anyway, nice cord.

Nice. I am going the other way on Wednesday. Sitting in Nanaimo right now. Looks worse then when I went through on Thursday lol.

No... Snow happens right around 0c or 32f. Maybe 5 to 10 degrees colder.
Now.... 0f is starting to mean wear a jacket lol

They were out of the 50' cable, and offered to knock the 100' on for 80 versus the original $120. Gonna use it for my lincoln 140 mig and around the shop. Only requires 20a, but gonna cut it in half and throw some higher rates connectors on it. Cable im using now creates too much voltage drop.

How much did it cost you to get the four of them coated, I have been wondering what they charged for coating, and cooking them?

I would absolutely love to! Hopefully in a few years after my wife graduates from Vet School, me and her can take a trip at least up to the Midwest. My grandfather used to take a yearly trip to Canada for deer or black bear and said the deer there are 3-4 times the size we have all the way down here. In south Alabama, you've killed an old buck if he weighs 220+. This was one I killed 3 years ago and he was considered one of the biggest taken off that property in at least the last 20 years and he weighed 210 live.

It was $15 a rim for the sand blasting (plus taxes) and $175 plus taxes for the powder coating. Total was $265.30 for all of it.

Dropped off the Taco at Toyota for TSB #0026-15 (Tacoma/FJ/4Runner) on the front diff needle bearing. As of May 2015 Toyota issued a TSB using a new needle bearing part number.

I was thinking the same thing. When it's really cold around here (-40 and below) it's always crystal clear out.

image.jpg 6112's are installed and are set on the first notch witch is .95 on the Bilstein's 4x2 chart. They actually raised the front 2.0 inchs. The ride is great and the truck is close to dead level. I'm happy with the results! :D

That looks really good. Its next on my list of things to get installed. Just want it level like yours.

So I changed my Front and Rear Diff's oil + transfer case for the 2nd time last night. Oil coming out was Valvoline Synthetic and sure wish I had not changed it at the 30k mile interval like the manual says. The oil coming out of both diff's was still gold in color; the transfer case oil was bit darker, but not black. I put the same brand of oil back in so i'm good at least for another 30k miles. With that said, I found an old test kit this morning that BlakcStone Labs sent me for another vehicle I used to have the oil analyzed on and am going to see how much life was left in this gear oil. I pumped some of the old oil back into a container so its not getting contaminated sitting out. I'm just curious at this point how much life was left in that oil. It still looked brand new coming out :bikewheelie2:. I'll post the results in a separate thread or i'll add a post to the DIY threads for future reader's to look at.
