Cold Air intake

Does anyone know what is the best cold air intake for a 2010 Tacoma 4X4. I'm getting ready to purchase one and before I do, I would like to hear some opinions in which one so I purchase. Thanks!

Depends on what you expect it to do.

If you expect fuel improvements, extra horsepower, performance gains, they are all worthless.

If you want the engine to sound louder at high RPM's I can vouch for the K&N Cold Air Intake. Aside from that I don't think it really did anything for me.

Best cold air intake for a Tacoma is usually the one installed at the factory. Although I know guys running a snorkel see cooler iat's... I'm not saying it does anything for performance.

 

Cool, thanks for the input. Not necessarily doing it for fuel economy, doing it more for a better engine sound.

 

K&N sounds amazing on my bro's Dodge 1500. Many suggest AFE on here, but honestly any name brand will work.

 

I've had two Toyotas with K&N and if you think you feel a bit more power with the noise at shift points who cares cooool ! These sites are about enjoying whatever you do with your truck and passing on what you experience and learn!

I put the TRD drop in washable (looks like a K&N) in mine. Sounds good with a lot of throttle. I remember my 96' jeep Cherokee that had a 350 Chevy in it- the air filter was where the glove box used to be and that fugger was so loud you couldn't even think!!

 

What made you go with the airaid?

 

I have a k&n as well...sounds good, but I wish I went with something with a heat shield tho.

why? Its drawing ambient air just like EVERY OTHER intake at approx 40mph....... u should be more concerned about maf failure
