Got about 12" of snow here today. The Tacoma is the best vehicle I've driven in snow yet and this is with the stock highway tires! I thought our Subaru with snow tires was unstoppable, but I couldn't get the Tacoma to slip even when I tried.

Same here! We didn't get that much but 6" that froze into an ice rink that night. I was actually surprised how well the stock Goodyears did in the snow and Ice! I used to think my 98 Grand Cherokee was unstoppable but I never had to put the truck in 4wd or have any weight in the bed.

Wow...i find it hard to believe your tacoma is better than the grand cherokee in the snow especially without using 4x4 or having any weight in the bed. I have a 2000 grand cherokee with the selec trac 4x4 system. Ive driven through 2 feet of snow from a dead stop with no problem. Just put it right into 4wd full time and the thing just plows through anything.

I'm positive I'd have to shift in to 4wd in that much snow and unfortunately we haven't got that much yet. I'm sure if I tried hard enough I could have started to slide but normal driving for the conditions I never slid once and the back end stayed planted. My Jeep was when they were "All Time 4wd" or 4Lo so it did awesome through it, had tons of other problems with it but not traction.

I think you probably had the quadra trac 4x4 system...not sure exactly the difference between yours and mine but all i know was with the selec trac you could use it on dry pavement, and it was unstoppable in the snow. Yeah jeeps do have a ton of problems...mostly sensors and crap, little things. But the engine and tranny are bulletproof..4.0 i6. I am curious to see how the tacoma would do in 1 foot+ of snow.

Tell me about it.. it seemed like every month or so I had something new go out or stop working including my ECU. I had the V8 in mine with 167,000 miles when I sold it. I also got a whopping 11 mpg with stock tires and suspension. Hopefully I'll be able to let you know after Christmas. I have that week off and planning on going to Tahoe a couple days for Skiing, possibly exploring some trails.

I found this out in my 2015. Traction control is your enemy in deep snow you want as much traction control off as possible and power to all of the wheels. Or else you will just eventually dig all of them in as power is cut to whatever wheel is spinning slightly and you lose your momentum. Your truck looks awesome btw can't wait to get mine in Feb.
