Is your switch the dual led version? Where you have the bottom portion that illuminates with the dash lights and the top illuminates when the switch is turned to the on position?

 

Sure is. I was sick of not being able to see the factory switch at night and "not knowing" if it was on.

 

I'm curious how you're going to wire it, maybe I'm thinking about this wrong but if you use the factory harness that uses a switched ground and hook up the illumination pin to a positive source, when the switch is flipped to the on position you'll short the circuit

Not trying to be an ass either, I'm curious because I haven't hooked my illumination pin up yet because of this. If this will work I'll be stoaked!

 

So I just hooked it up and it partially works. I think I need the diode referenced in the picture.. Without the red wire hooked up the switch acts as expected but the light bar doesn't turn on. With the red wire the light bar turns on but the switch doesn't light as expected.
Switch - truck
Black - green/white
Blue - green
Red - white/black
Green - blue

 

The only way I could think of to fix it would be to use a relay to turn the switched ground into a switched 12volt just for the illumination, but that seemed like alot of work just for a single LED

 

I feel like I'm arguing with myself. lol nah, I'm open to criticism.
