If you do you'll be paying MSRP , or more. Look elsewhere. Based on what the Longo salesman has said here I'd NEVER go to Longo; as there no interest in "dealing" since apparently there are plenty of people in So Cal happily willing to go to Longo to pay more than MSRP for a 2016 Taco as soon as the semi pulls into the lot.

Me, I'd rather pay below MSRP and use the money I saved for things Toyota should have added to the truck like real skid plates and mud flaps

Try a service like Costco or AAA and see if they offer a discount on the configuration you want. Should be way better than walking in off the street. Then, use that number to negotiate with a dealer who might be closer to you. If they wont play, fall back to the AAA or Costco dealer.

Most people here want Off Roads... They don't deal on Off Roads in socal. It's msrp or "there is too much demand for these trucks right now, especially 4x4"

Yeah I'm after a sport 2wd. And I'm not in any hurry for a truck, I don't need it. It's more of a want lol.

You got that right. They sure do have a 5k mark up over MSRP at DCH. Luckily I was able to get mine without the markup. I ended up with a Non Tech Package OR.

I made the mistake of mentioning what I do for a living while on the test drive and I think the sales guy just saw dollar signs and wouldn't negotiate it at all.

Yeah, I bet that small talk they try to give you is all about gauging the buyer and what kind of job they have to figure out income, etc. I test drove a Mazda3 once and the guy asked me what I did and I called him out on that. He said he only asked because tech guys like cars with navigation systems and all the electronics on cars.

Probably an error. Like typing "moran" when you mean "moron". These things happen.

UPDATE: Fixed it. The photo threw me off.

Also... didn't know about the "moran" meme. I stand corrected.

THATS what I'm saying! I get it... There are people who are desperate and willing to shell out more than they should for a vehicle. No way someone who is on here should fall victim to this. $5000 is a hefty chunk. Not to mention that's $5000 to get back to MSRP. Someone who was willing to come to the place I am buying my truck could potentially save an easy $8000 or more off of that price. I'd fly across the country, buy a truck, drive it home. Freaking crooks.

Factor in the wait time for most trucks when you make those huge discount claims.

No lie... you lost me. Want a 2016 TRD 4x4 sport in MGM with JBL? They have one sitting at the dealership. They have several Sports. They take delivery of a Quicksand OR without the tech tomorrow. No markup and then of course there is the discount in price. With a markup of $5000 right there on the sticker... not hard to beat it if you travel away from that area.

Not claiming to have the market cornered here... just saying someone who wants to pay $35K for the truck I am getting could do so if they wanted to come to South Carolina. I assume your taxes would be different than mine... but still... no $5000 markup. Thats just crazy. Reading that made me wonder what my truck (assuming I actually buy it next week) would be worth if I drove it out there and offered it for sale just outside that dealership. Could I get market value minus $2000 and fly home to pickup another?

Trucks are being delivered all over the country. If someone is looking at a sticker that says $5000 DEALER MARKUP on it... think about taking a vacation and picking up a truck somewhere outside of your market if you can't stand to wait until the dealers aren't able to screw people over.
