I almost never drive w/o music, but today was the exception. I found that I have the most annoying rattle coming from somewhere in the dash/console area.

Anyone have any rattles in this area, and were you able to Remedy?

The sound appears to be a plastic chatter.

    Thank you.

I had one I coming from the passenger side that I finally narrowed down to the shelf inside the glove compartment. Quick fix was to remove the shelf.

Corn Rattlers - Mine was also in the glove box when I put my vehicle leather pouch squeezed into the upper cubby hole...took it out and the squeak was gone...let us know if you have the same or similar finding...

Passenger dash speaker for me. I reseated the cover and it's gone for now. Very annoying!

I heard some rattle the other day but I couldn't pin point where it was coming from cause I was on the freeway. It didn't rattle on the way home and it hasn't come back yet. I'm hoping it don't come back.

How exactly did you pop out the speaker cover and reseat it? I think I might be having the same issue on my truck as you described.

    Thanks.

I have one too that I believe is from the passenger side of the center console but more towards the front, like next to the cup holders. If I reach over and press against it while driving it will stop but as soon as I let go it starts up again. Sometimes my wife will hit it while we are riding and it will stop for a moment but then start again. I can't figure out what exactly is causing it or how to stop it for good

Man, it was more of a PITA then I expected! I used a small flathead to carefully pry it up so the tabs disengaged.....at which point I broke the right front tab. The difficult part is that there is a tab that comes out and goes up under the plastic on the pillar. I had to work it around a bit to get it out. Then I used the small flat head to pop the tab for the connector for the auto head light sensor(at least I think that's what it is). To put it back in I had to angle the cover a bit to get the tab back under the pillar. Once done I reconnected the sensor and then slid the front tabs forward and pressed down. Even w/ the busted front tab it sits flush.

Whoa, that seems like quite the ordeal just to get that cover out of the dash trim. And my biggest thing is I am afraid I am going to break something. I may just take it in to the dealer and let them handle it. I guess that is one of the advantages of having a warrantied vehicle. But still I feel Toyota uses cheap a$$ plastic trim parts in all their vehicles.

    rattles are my nemesis.

My current car is ridiculous when it comes to rattles and it makes me feel like its falling apart despite it being in excellent mechanical condition.

It's almost inevitable in automobiles though... so much plastic and metal with constant vibrations from the powertrain and road.

yep. plus they make them so much more quite than the old days. Heck the old days had so much other outside noise and other things now making interior trying to be very quite and now all this plastic its almost guaranteed we will get rattles.

That's what I've realized. The cab actually be extremely quiet is what is making me hyper focused on any little noise. Once I looked at it that way the little things don't bug me.

After Blasting the jbl system.. the wires underneath the front passenger seat started rattling against something... I fiddle around with it and got it to stop.

OP, did you ever fix your rattling in your truck? Did it sound like this? I recorded this video in my truck so people could hear the exact noise.

That's exactly what it sounds like but, for mine, it comes and goes.
