Good luck man! It's a tough world out there at the moment. I'm 24 and still looking for a career after recently earning my bachelors. They just built a new fedex here I was thinking about looking into jobs for. 100's of applications and I've only managed two interviews and I'm still stuck in retail. Was okish but they just announced their dropping out insurance coverage next year too. Yay...lol

At your age I would be all about the Armed Forces. You get to serve your country and opens up many doors once you are out. I wish when I was your age I had gone that route.

    Best of luck!

    Cheers, James

At the moment I do inventory and handle all the ordering and logistics at a gun range, so not like it'd be a big change. Lol. Issue I run into is all the entry level jobs say they want years of experience, which makes them not entry level. It's a vicious cycle.

At this point I'd like to get into the automotive industry somehow.

I don't know your interests, but if I were not pursuing other career paths, I would probably look at law enforcement right now. You may have to move for it, but applications are way down across the country. Being large and athletic will be helpful too.

Look at it this way drive big forklift pretty much like atv and make and unmake "puzzles" as in big rig trailors it keeps you active and physical busy going at it.

Agriculture. I've been aiming for stuff like the BLM, USGS, Dept of Ag, etc but again, nearly impossible to get in the system.

I had one position I interviewed for that they called me in for three separate interviews and I didn't get it. :bananadead: best I could figure is they wanted a guy as the interviews went really well. They hired nobody.

Some flags and center console divider... lots of things on the wanted list.
They don't care in the AF as long as you pass the rest of the stuff...

I was 6'0" 220 when I joined. I am 240 now. As long as you pass your PT test they don't care. Join the Air Force. See the world.

I enjoy guns. I'm also an NRA Intsructor here. I'm more passionate about my truck and off-roading so that's where my money goes lol.

Best of luck on your job hunt. As far as military or LE goes, the job security and benefits usually come with a lot of stress, depending on your job. And extra scrutiny especially if you decide to go the LE route... you don't necessarily "see the world" in the military. (I might just be cynical, or the guy above drinks the Kool-Aid...) Really, no use in worrying too much, just keep searching and you'll figure something out eventually.

You're young. 23 is very young. Qualifications and education come with time. :)

I hear ups has good pay for drivers, about 80,000 a year. But the driver positions are based on seniority, so you might have to work as a package handler for min wage for 10 years before you get to drive.

Depends what center you're out of. I'm out of a hub so that's not necessarily true for my location. The two places I mentioned have plenty of day runs. About half am. Bids.
And then there some centers that have zero day runs what so ever. Those are mostly satellite or end of line centers
