What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

The switch itself could be bad, mine was. When I replaced mine I had found some obscure thread on another forum that stated it was the reverse switch off a manual v6 toyota pickup. I'm not vouching for this specific switch, though it did work, but it should just be a reverse light switch. Easy to replace and eliminate as a possibility.

So from what I've seen you have both a LT 1st gen and a SAS'd first gen? Bravo good sir.

 

No LT... It's just a 2wd v6 that I'm going to put a blower on.

 

Thought I saw an engine cage so I assumed LT. Unless that's the SAS'd rig?

 

I'm confusing everybody. The caged engine is the sas dub cab.

 

Don't forget it's really an 8" body lift.

I thought I remember seeing a writeup for disabling the error checking function for interior lights and maybe headlights. Anybody remember something like that?

 

Almost blew mine apart and fried it for a second time a month ago. Luckily I was able to clean it all and mend the gear and get it working again.

Just picked it up from my local Toyota dealership. It's official, I'm getting a new frame!

Talked to the one guy who will be directly working on it, super chill dude who explained everything I would be getting new and what not. I saw them in the middle of replacing an 05-08 frame as well. I told him I'd basically strip all the shit off my truck. Cutting the sliders off is gonna be the hardest part and salvaging the front crossmember I worked with @PSU Taco85 to fab up. I'm torn on stripping it now and driving a loaner until they get the parts in or just waiting till the parts come in then strip it down. My itch to wheel is killing me but I have a ton of work ahead of me so part of me is just like fuck it, get to work. Either way I am so happy to be getting a new frame.

So I replaced the gasket under the fuel sending assembly, since I have a suspicion it's the source of the slight fuel leak/smell. But I went full novice mode and overtorqued one of the screws when putting the assembly back on, and broke the head off of it. So my initial question is this: will 7 out of 8 screws suffice? The assembly is tight and won't move, even at the spot with the broken spot. And since there is a rubber gasket underneath, I imagine the seal should be good enough. But I'm curious what you guys think. Can't get the screw out, even with vicegrips, so my only options would be dremel a slit in it to make it a flathead screw (but I have no dremel, so that's an issue in itself) or to drill it out. I'd have to see what stuff is at the house here, but I think I'd have access to the right bits.
