so is this TSB only for 2009 trucks or does it happen on previous year trucks like 2008?

I called my local dealer earlier today and got an appointment set up for Friday morning. The rep seemed to not know of the problem but magically stated that they might have to "reprogram" the computer to fix the problem.. I never mentioned of the TSB but just stated the problems that I am having.. Hopefully they will not give me the runaround and install the tsb.. what you guys think??

I had my tranny re-flashed today. I was in and out in 45 minutes! I had some errands to run after and drove around 17 stop and go miles after the service... I notice a HUGE difference! The service manager kind of laughed and said "you guys know about this stuff before we do" Thanks to you guys on this forum, I was able to get the problem fixed without waiting for if and when Toyota would contact me for this service. Anybody with an 09 V6 auto tranny needs to go down and get this done....Now it's Mod time!:)

I got a call today and just as feared "we couldn't replicate the problem." I told them I'd take the service tech for a ride when I came to pick it up. Rode around with the service tech and of course, this just had to be the time where it didn't act up. As we were pulling back in I asked if he found a TSB on the issue to which he said no. I whipped out the TSB blurb that was in this thread and told him I'd really appreciate if he could confirm whether this TSB was good or not. He read it and seemed to get really interested, went back to look it up, then came back and said he did find it, and that since it's just a re-flash he'll still do it even though we couldn't replicate it. Had no issues on the drive home :D

I noticed the same issues with my new truck, just over 200 miles driven, I thought it was just the 5 spd. tranny being overly busy when down shifting, it is most annoying for sure - would be nice if Toyota would come up with a fix for the 2010's -

Can anyone confirm that this is "Just a re-flash"?

I complained of this issue several months ago and talked my dealer into re-flashing my system I THINK the problem has gone away but am not sure.

It still downshifts going downhill and that bothers me but I think that is the brake assist.

Ya! My 08 Sport has the tranny lag and it drives me crazy. I called a dealership here but the service manager didn't want to look anything up or acknowledge a TSB over the phone. So, i'v gotta go in and see if the 2008 is covered. I did check the VDS's against my VIN and Iv got one set of the numbers.

Just got mine re-flashed today, with no problems or a fight from the dealership at all. Runs much better now, that was my only issue with the truck! :)

I'm in the same boat. My service rep said that it is for 09 only. I have a feeling the 08 guys didn't complain enough.

Hey so i have good news for the canadian guys. After being told that there wasnt one at one dealership and basically being told that the american trucks were programmed different by another i finally found someone willing to work with me.

Anyways, I stopped by the dealership where i actually bought the truck and ended up talking to a new service guy. He said he didnt know of one and asked someone else but they didnt know eaither. He couldent find TSB# 0373-09 or 0373, so he tried searching ECM, AND HE FOUND IT. so anyways its TSB# 3310, up in canada. He said that they might need a new Snap-on computer or something, i dont know how much truth there was to this but he said call back in a week and he would know more. I tried to get a copy of it but he said he couldent give me one.

The service guys at the dealership in my town said that since it is just a re-flash, all they do is clear out the old codes? He said that as soon as it "learns" your driving style again (if you drive the same as before) the transmission will act the exact same as it did before the flash? this sound right? He said it will cost me about $100 since i have 60k on the odo. damn. no good guy discount.....

Sounds right if you're just "resetting" the ECM. From what I understand one can do this at home by pulling the positive cable off the battery. This is a "recalibration" of the ECM. They're actually loading something different on it.
