One good thing if you're a union member....especially UAW....you can be caught on video smoking weed and drinking on break and STILL keep your job!!!

    Amazes me!!!

Not union here but, I thank unions for my current decent working conditions & compensation package. The fact that my companies largest competitor is Union benefits our employee group.

One can never have too many light bars.
In CA any publicly funded project must have union wages even if the workers aren't unionized. Alot of non-union plumbers and electricians make a killing on that law.

    Hardcore off road floor mats!
I have a co-worker who worked for Ford for 10 years. He found out I'm looking at a Tacoma & keeps reminding me 'They (Japan) bombed us!'... Doesn't matter if it's made in the US, it's a foreign company. So to him, it's a no go. Ford, GM, or Chrysler. No other. ha

Provailing wage. When a non-union member makes union scale. All contracts given out by the US Federal Government are Provailing wage jobs.

I don't have a problem with those from that generation who lived through that to have that perspective.
A little misguided in today's auto manufacturing. But I get it.

I work there. No need for union. They treat us fair. Pay us very well.
Unions have tried to come in. Team members voted no.

Typically the people who are against unions are those that don't benefit from them.

Ive been an incredibly overpaid union member for 15 yrs, never went to college, living a life I never expected to live, and really have no right to live, so to me, unions rule! What a great country.

That being said, Im buying what I like, union made or not.

There was a teachers union at the university where I taught in Boston. When the economy tanked in 2009 and my day job let go of 50% of its staff, the union somehow completed ongoing negotiations and secured us all some incremental pay increases. They were minor increases and four years overdue, but it was the only bright spot in five years of pain.

When the economy tanked and every other manufacturer took buy outs and laid people off, Toyota paid us to come in and improve the factory, improve our community by doing projects, cleaning fixing up parks ect.
    They didn't lay off.
    That says alot.

So what constitutes American Made in your opinion?

Tacos are not American Made, more like partially American Made. Might be where the last wrench was turned, but certainly not the entire build. Actually closer to 60% American Made. Hell, even F150's are only 70% US made. Crazy how we drove our manufacturing jobs out of the country.

 I work with some union folks and as said already there are the good, the bad and the ugly in all walks. The problem is the good carry the bad and the ugly just watch while everyone is paid the same.

It was reported in the news a few years back. With video.
I believe there was enough public outrage that there were penalties. Maybe firings?

What you "think" is American made might be American owned but not made.
