I got the toyota extender for the 2016. This one is a lot better than what I had on my prior truck. You can remove it and re-install it in literally 5 seconds or less. Plus, if you lock your tailgate nobody can steal it.

Has anyone used the bed extender along with the cargo mat and the factory tonneau cover? I'm wondering if there are any clearance issues with the setup.

there shouldn't be any clearance issues. i have to cover and extender (not the mat), but i am able to lift up the extender slightly, so im sure there is enough space for the mat

I'm disappointed that the extender doesn't attach to the track. It would have be so much more versatile. Anyone know of one that exists?

Didn't know the pivot was hard mounted to the side of the bed. I saw a Frontier with an extender. The hinge point was on a sliding bracket on the bed rail system. When you don't need it, you can flip it forward and slide it to the front of the bed.

It doesn't make sense to me to spend several hundred $'s on a few pieces of arumininum. I won't buy one. I bought my truck with a 6' box, simply because a 6' box is all I needed. If I need to secure something, I use ratchet straps and a ratcheting load bar.

Otherwise, I would have bought a bigger truck.

I'd rather spend $200.00 on a piece of aluminum that can be folded inside the bed or taken off than have a $35,000+ truck with a 6' bed that wouldn't fit in my garage. Personally I don't like the look of the LB and most of the time have no use for the extra foot except when I need to carry a 6' step so the bed extender is ideal for my needs.

If anyones looking for one I just bought a factory one on Ebay for $200.00 with free shipping. I know I probably could've got the same deal from the dealer but they messed up so much on my order I just wanted to be done with them.

According to Toyota, the sides need to be angled for taillight visibility, new federal law.
