I think the cops should be using force when they feel the suspect is a threat to them. Im all down for using force on runaway people, suspicious people in cars, but a blind kid already on the floor? lol. c'mon man. I think we can all agree its inappropriate. And to he who posted the video about the cop getting shot in the face, yes I hate shit like that too. But I dont think the two can be compared. The cop's job (in the face shot video) warrants danger naturally, and in deciding to be employed by a police agency, you agree to those things (not getting shot in the face, but facing like dangers). Being a civilian does not warrant being tasered and beat repeatedly when you try to search for your glasses.

Maybe he shouldve just quit searching for his glasses, you guys are right. He shouldve waited til after. But does searching for your glasses warrant repeated beatings + a few taser shots? I think not.

They don't know if He was searching for his glasses or a weapon. All he had to do was just comply with the orders that were given and he wouldn't have gotten a beating. From my experience DO WHAT THEY TELL YOU TO DO and everything will be fine after. They have to make sure there is no possible threats to them before they continue on with anything.

I wasn't there so I dont know how it went down, it seems like the police could have handled the situation differently. If they wouldnt have went into his room and demanded he stay put it probably never would have escalated to this point, people often react to a situation with the same level of anger or control that they are confronted with. Bottom line treat people with kindness & respect and you might get the same back, no matter how pro lawenforcment you are I cant see beating that kid the way they did while he was already down, I would never say all cops are doughnut eating assholes that would be ridiculous, However to say all cops are great guys who never abuse their power is equally obsurd IMO.

point to think about - the cops were already called out the month before because this guy brandished a weapon (knife?) on his roommate. Previous behaviors need to come into play here. If this were the only call, I would agree it seems harsh. Second call, the kid is the problem.
