    • Could be that a tire is low on air, check your tire pressures
      • Once verified correct, hit the reset button under the steering column.
    • Also, since its a 2006, maybe one of the sensors needs a new battery?
      • The batteries would be 10 years old
    • The dealer might have changed out the wheels (or previous owner) and the current wheels do not have sensors
      • Get a scanning tool or have dealer or a local tire shop scan the wheels for sensors IDs (if present)
    • The wheels may have sensors and the ECU is not flashed to read them
      • Get dealer or local tire shop to scan for sensors and flash ECU
The dealer should be able to help scan the wheels and ECU, or you can go to a local tire shop and they can scan and tell you. There are also scanners you can buy yourself. I use a buddies scanner to get the codes on my winter rims bought used, and then use the plug in to flash the codes between winter set and summer set each time I swap the wheels.

No, it does not go off when you turn them off and headlight indicators are supposed to be blue right? Dealer called back and says that it may be on because a bulb somewhere in the system is the wrong wattage? And not to worry about it...... Still not satisfied with these answers. Sheesh!

That is what comes on when I turn my headlights on, I've never given it much thought. It doesn't flash though, it just comes on and goes off with the headlights. You don't have a burned out light somewhere do you? That would be cool if it flashed to let you know you have one out.

Is your truck Canadian or American? This picture is from a US truck obviously. In Canada that symbol is slightly different and means your tail lights are on. On US trucks, it indicates your headlights are on.

 It's certainly a US speedometer.

The OP says the truck was bought new in Canada.

He also says he just bought it.

    It has a Mph speedo.

Therefore someone has converted at least one gauge but more likely the whole cluster and conceivably fucked something up in the process. Or the cluster may not work with the harness exactly depending on year and/or country of original sale.

Time for more detective work OP.

Maybe that's just a picture he grabbed off the Internet. Is that even a 2006 speedo? Or 2007? Op says his truck is a 2006, but his sig says 2007...I don't know.

The truck is an 07, built 10/06. The vin says definitely Canadian. The original picture is of the actual offending light. I think Ball Joint may be on to something. There are a couple of other odd ball items on the truck: under the hood is a Gardian corrosion protection module (a useless gimmick which I disconnected), beside the steering there is a little on/off switch which is still powered, and beside the mirror is an antenna looking thing with white lights that flash about every 5 seconds. Does that make any sense or just add to the mystery? See pics attachedimage.jpgimage.jpg image.jpg

you have something odd for sure

what is known is, turn signals will blink rapidly when one is burned out

I don't think the headlight symbol (which is your first pic) blinks if a light is burned
out, and it should turn off when lights are off

I think someone messed up and may have tapped headlight pre-relay power for something else

the antenna by the mirror is for an aftermarket alarm/starter. I think the aftermarket alarm if going off thats why the light on the dash is flashing because the aftermarket alarm is connected to the park lights.

The antenna is most likely just a car starter. If you think that it's somehow related look under the driver's side up near the kick panel under the dash. You should see a a module that looks like it has been added. It's usually zip tied in place. Unplug it and see what happens with the light.

The switch looks like it was added to run some accessory lights. I've seen that type of switch in some lighting kits.

Well, Ruggybuggy nailed it. I found a box with about 20 wires plugged into it under the dash. I proceeded to remove one plug at a time, testing that she would still run and found I could remove the whole thing without problems. Damn little indicator light still comes on so I think one of those wires must be tied into a lighting circuit incorrectly but I give up, it just isn't worth laying under the dash board. Taco runs just right, I'll put up with the little lightbulb.
    Thanks for everyone's help.

This is why I don't trust used vehicles or anyone else's wiring jobs but my own. :)

^^^bing bing bing if any used vehicle shows any signs of mods, I'll pass,
as it is likely buggered right the f-up

only 1 person on a yaris forum and 2 people here I would be confident any wiring job would be top
notch with zero mistakes or tapping the wrong place (slow melting over time)

When I purchased my '99 4Runner from this 18 year old (should have been a warning sign), I'd asked him if it had a stereo system installed at one point. This is after I noticed the ill fitting sill plates. He assured me that it hadn't. I cursed his lying ass when I pulled out power cable that had been run underneath the 4Runner and through a hole they'd drilled behind the back seat. And the 3 way Focal speakers they'd installed, the midrange and tweeter on some tin in the front doors, and the woofers in the back doors. You know, where they would knock the rear windows out of their tracks with their magnets if you tried to roll the windows all the way down.
