Yes you do! Everyone does. Trust me it's cheap cheap cheap insurance. I learned the hard way! $2,200 in repairs at Toyota when my OEM mounts broke!

I'm designing a 4wd solid trans mount right now for another customer. 2wd will be next on the list.

The 3.4 mounts swap in a lot easier than the 4.0 mounts I'll tell you that. Id say about 2-4 hours labor time depending on your array of harbor freight tools and mechanical skill haha.

If (when) the trans blows then swap in the 5 sp + crawl box. Gotta have the crawl box though; the auto spoils you when on the rocks.

Ouch, that hurt in the feels :D My car is 5sp and I def prefer a manual but got to admit, here in VA were most trails are rocks, an auto is much easier  When the auto goes, a 5sp will follow.

Ill be honest with you, I almost bought an access cab when I found out the double cad didn't have a 5sp option. Wasn't happy buying my dream truck and the first auto Ive ever driven...

That said, just don't have the time or money to do a trans swap at this point. When its needed, sure but for now I have other priorities. TBH, if I land this big job I'm gunning for, I get a pass from the wife to get a new car under $30k. I might just get a loan on the mortgage and ship the truck to Diesel Toyz for a 5sp 1KD conversion ($30k even).

I call the turbo stuff. Haha

Hope you get the job all aside man! Diesel would be sweet man. Does suck the double cabs have autos. I have access to the stuff to do a 5speed swap in mine. But doesn't make sense to financially for me.

Its a long shot but TBH, I have to ship the truck in working order. I have to pay extra to get the motor shipped back and it might not be worth the hassle. If you wanted it, Id probably jus let you pay Diesel Toyz to ship the engine to you.

But while we are all dreaming...
