Gotcha. Yeah, I might have to try removing it.

Way better. No problems with 33s - feels like it was always looking for another gear before the regear - now it feels like it's driving correctly again.

True. I'm going to try removing it and see. And yeah, it's so light that it might be fine with such a stiff suspension..

Sweet build! How have you liked having the tiregate? Have you missed having the traditional tailgate at all? I'm thinking about building one for my truck before long.

This thread killed me with gas, so much that I picked up some of the F5's as well in gunmetal. Now; tires, locker and new gearing. Damn money pit! :D

Thanks man! I love it. The only time I miss the old tailgate is when I'm carrying something small or loose and I worry about it falling out - but for me that's not very often. I love the weight savings over a rear bumper+carrier.

Looking good man! Your truck is awesome, but yeah, definitely a money pit haha

    Thanks. I believe it was a 15 second exposure, f/1.5, ISO 12000, on a Sony a7s.

Hahah I thought the same thing, although a A7S/R is still a possibility since the lexus is gone @ikarus But after having my camera out in heavy snow your weatherproofing comment made me wonder if its the right camera for me

Doooo it. But yeah, I feel ya. I usually take out the 5D or 7D in bad weather. Though I wouldn't be able to do that without a video/photo job.

    Thanks man.

I realized why i love this build your truck doesnt look heavily modifed to the normal person but is probably more capable than a lot of trucks armored up because of the lockers. Keep it up

Thanks. I try to build as I go, buying things based on past needs. I've found myself stuck or in need of more traction more often than I've been hitting my bumpers on rocks.

You can still get close, depending on your equipment. Find a decently fast lens, like f/2.8 or f/4 if you can. Turn the ISO as high as you can without degrading picture quality. Then determine how long you need to leave the shutter open - it could be as long as a minute or two, using the bulb function on your camera. It's fun to experiment with night pictures since you never know how it's going to turn out. Use the widest lens available as well, to avoid streaking stars as they move over the course of a minute or two.

My Canon only goes to ISO 6400 and I'll bet there's a lot of noise there. Should be good for a hoot seeing what an f2.8 lens goes for. Probably one of my social security checks.

Sweet truck, but why did you go with 4.88s, the added weight of armour?

Don't mean to get off topic, but you're a real expert on photography, and I'd like to pick your brain about that kind of night shot. Canon makes their EF F1.8 STM lens. That sounds like what I'd need, but the description on Canon's website says it provides nice soft backgrounds. So would the DOF be too narrow for that kind of shot you took? I really appreciate your input. Thanks.

I've never been real big into photography. But after seeing pictures like these? It makes me wanna get a nice camera to document my trips. Instead of a stupid camera phone. Love your truck btw!!

No, just the glow from our screens. Light gets amplified during long exposure photography and it looks brighter than it is.

    Yeah, I knew I'd be adding a bumper and sliders. Plus it's a 2.7L and I'm running 33s.

Thanks man! If you have an iPhone, that can take great pictures on its own. Practice composition and lighting with that and then decide if you're ready to make the move to a nicer camera.
