Has anyone ever heard of someone using OME coils and getting far from the amount most report getting lift wise? For example my 887s on 90021s only gave about 2" lift. Am I the only one this has ever happened to?

I found the answer to my question. It's an apples and oranges comparison.

The OME shock is a twin tube, low-pressure design. This is radically different than a monotube high-pressure shock such as the Bilstein 5100.

Apparently it's normal for a twin tube shock to not expand on it's own while compressed.

lift the truck up in the air so the tires are like 3" off the ground. get a digging bar and lay it on the ground under the tire. lift up the digging bar against the tire and the ground and search for loose/wore out components while you try to replicate the noise.

Hey guys, I am finally going to lift the Taco and decided on the OME lift... reading through the thread here and there it sounds like 886 with dakars is what I will get and not sure on the shocks yet. I don't have a front bumper yet with a winch but will shortly after the lift. will this setup give me a level stance? I have a topper and plan on putting more armor on the truck like sliders and a rear bumper. How would the ride be on and offroad with my truck setup like this?

886s with dakars will probably leave you close to level until you put weight on the front. I have about .5" of rake w/ this setup and about 175lbs on the front. Ride is subjective, I like how mine rides :D

I believe the 886 with Dakars will give you rake.

My 887's (taller springs) with Dakars still had rake.

Though it seems this varies from truck to truck.

This is how it looked a couple days after the lift and a few loads in the rear. No front anything (just crush bar and stock rear bumper)

With front bumpers and no rear bumper

And now (no winch, rear bumper but no load-trailer is not hooked up)

I have a winch now and it barely did anything. The ride is a bit softer but really it hasn't bothered me at all through the stages I showed you.

Tires in all pictures are 265/75/16. Pretty good visual for ya. No spacer for taco lean. 886s and dakars.

After close to three years and with the added winch with 255/85/16 this is how it sits. Not the best pic as the rear tires is a tiny bit flexed as I'm not on flat ground, but gives you an idea. Also have a 60-70lb tool box on the passenger side. Still rides same to similar. Little softer but awesome off-road.

I sit with a slight rake with this set up and I have about 200 pounds in the front with a bumper and winch. In the back I have a topper, deck and 70 pounds(ish) of tools. One of these days I need to measure everything but I think after the weight and settling I have less then 2.75" of lift which is fine with me. On a recent road trip I have a lot of added weight in the back and the Dakars held up really well, barely dropped in height at all!

wow thats not bad at all... the bottom pic with the trailer not hooked up looks like very little rake. I have a leer topper on mine so it might lower it a smidge. i have 265 75 16 on mine now but it still looks good with the same tires with the lift...

Yeah it's not bad at all. Also I believe I had full skids and sliders. Just something to mention.

I just put my 3in ome lift on with the top plate spacers and full Dakar leaf packs along with LR UCA's. And I have 33x12.50 tires I am going to put on it.. From the reading I have done it seems that I need rims with 4.5 back spacing to clear them, and probably have to trim the wheel wells.. If I do all of this should they fit fine?

Does anybody know where to get OME stickers at all???????? Yellow or white or something I would prefer the old school logo but I will take anything at this point.
