One is a chihuahua-dachsund just like my pup, and the other is chow-pit but thinks he's a small dog. It's great having a bigger dog

@Noslackline Dude reminds me of my families llewellin setter Snickers. Craziest, best hunting dog ever growing up! I loved every one of her 14 years of life.

From this weekend with Jax. Gettn him collared up for a hike (he thinks mule deer are playmates). He's 85 lbs right now. Will be a year old at the end of December. Also, he's gettn snipped this week :pout: Not looking forward to a bummin dog later this week.

Just lost my black lab Kip(under the couch) last night suddenly to cancer. We only brought him home from Lab Rescue 2.5 years ago, not nearly enough time with him. Kip was only 7.5 y/o. He was seriously an awesome boy, always loyal and loved to sleep under my feet. He was surely a "daddy's boy".
    R.I.P. buddy.

Eric, I'm sorry for your loss. I unfortunately have been in the exact same spot your in....a couple times. You seem to have given him a good home for the time you had him so hopefully that will ease your pain even if it's just a little.

    I'm sorry buddy

Really sorry to hear about your loss.

The Rainbow Bridge Poem always makes it a little better for me. You'll see your fur-baby again.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

    Some really cool shit
Bear in the icy waters of the Sierras, near Truckee. Chesapeakes love the cold water. Spent the afternoon up there. Snow is not deep. Wish I had more time, and at least one other truck, to go exploring. There were open trails all over.
