Canada is considered domestic. We have no headquarters based here, only assembly plants. That's like saying VW is domestic because they have an assembly plant in the states.

If the domestic brands make a vehicle I want, maybe...

Where's the Z72 Colorado Diesel MT?

Then there are Honda and Toyota HQ's as well.

What i mean, is the main HQ is in the USA, where Honda toyota main HQ is in Japan.

When i fly, canada to USA is a domestic flight, not international.

My next truck will be an f150. Families grow, and needs change. They're fast approaching toyota quality with lots of their models. My girlfriends next car will be a mazda. As far as quality and features for your money, mazda takes the cake. I feel they make the best cars if you don't want a hybrid.

Riiiight... So Ford doesn't own any percentage of Mazda... and Fiat doesn't own any percentage of Chrysler... and MB never owned any percentage of Chrysler... and your Harley was never part owned by Kawasaki or long before that by AMF... to say nothing of the numerous foreign corporations, pension plans, trusts, and endowments that own significant holdings in domestic corporations... as well as the domestic corporations, pension plans, trusts, and endowments that own significant holdings in foreign corporations.

You have no clue what you are talking about, but you do have an opinion and an internet connection; that makes you an expert on international banking and finance... congrats!

I had a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee and it was the biggest turd ever, nothing but problems with it and it spent most of my junior and senior year broken in my driveway. Since I've had a 2005 Civic, 1998 4Runner, and a 2015 Scion Tc, no problems with any of them besides your usual maintenance (oil changes, tire rotations, new break pads on the Honda).

Wow you are a corporate expert right here on TW. You are talking percentages and pensions...pffft rubbish. You are an uneducated and uninformed obama lover. Where does Mr Toyoda live? Believe it all Toyota us operations answer to Toyota Japan....period. I seriously doubt if Mazda Japan is calling the shots at ford in Detroit.

Actually over 30 years in international banking and finance does give me perhaps a slight background in the subject. How about you?

Enjoy your Budweiser thinking about how great it is to drink an American beer...

An "Obama lover"... HA, that's a good one and yet another example of how clueless you are about the world, yet you claim to know everything... Congrats - you're the only clown to be put on my "ignore list" here!

Hank the expert. If Toyota or Honda were going to go bankrupt do you really think the US gvt. would give them a bailout...HA! You probably do think they would. Enjoy your cheap wine and try not to get your pink panties all bunched up there pretty boy.

Unless my wealth increases drastically, I don't see myself buying any vehicle unless it's Toyota, Honda, or Subaru.

It's funny that you mention Subaru with Honda and Toyota. I guess I'm a latecomer in realizing that Subaru's are considered pretty darn good. Subaru, along with Mazda are companies that I wish would make a pickup.

All I have to say is there's no need for @MudsweatNgearz to respond the way he did to Hank. If he wanted amplifying information he could have asked...nicely.

So far, just a Hard Hat tonneau cover. Looking for mud guards and nerf boards.
My last Chevy Equinox was assembled in Canada, had a Japanese engine and a Chinese transmission. Is Chevy a domestic brand? I moved to Honda and never looked back. My Tacoma is my first Toyota, although I consider Toyota on par with Honda. If Honda made a truck, I don't know what I would have bought. Chevy went bust and taxpayer money went bye bye. Chrysler went bust, twice! Now, it's Fiat Chrysler. No Fiat (Fix It Again, Tony) for me. Ford had no trouble, but doesn't make a mid-size truck. So far, I really like my Tacoma and I don't expect that to change.

Subaru has had trouble with head gaskets for years and still does. I've owned two and will NEVER own one again.

Toyota owns 16.5% of Subaru which in itself is a subsidiary of Fugi Heavy Industries.

I didn't know about Toyota's stake in Subaru. I recently went to Durango, CO where I discovered the Outback is their unofficial AWD vehicle.
