So I spent the better part of a year researching, reading, reading, reading all about suspension upgrade possibilities. After doing what I'm sure many of you have done, almost go crazy trying to decide, Black Friday deals finally helped with my final decision. Fox doesn't appear to be the most popular choice on this forum, so I just wanted to offer a few brief words for anyone researching right now.

I went with: Fox 2.5" Extended Travel Coilover, Icon 1.5" AAL, Light Racing UCA, Extended Brake Lines, Fox 2.0 Rear Shocks, 255/85/16 Cooper St Maxx.

    1) As stated, I'm just a regular dude with moderate knowledge of all things mechanical
    2) Brief "driving" background. This is my second truck (had a 2001 Dakota back in the day, V8, supercharged, never lifted). I've owned a couple Hondas, VW, rode a sport Bike (R6) for a few years.
    3) I didn't love the sloppy, marshmallow like ride of the stock off road suspension. The nose dive was particularly annoying.
    4) I am VERY pleased with this set up. The ride has stiffened up nicely and in my opinion rides like a dream. In particular, the handling is absolutely superb.
    5) I'm no expert. But I did my research, talked to a few buddies who really know what they're talking about, saved some bucks, and now I feel like I've got a brand new ride.
    7) I got almost exactly 3" in the front and 2" out back.
    6) Despite shelling out a bit more than I had originally wanted to (sound familiar boys?), my wife's first words when seeing it post upgrade were "I think that's really how it's supposed to look." Score.

Any reason you went with the 2.5 up front instead of 2.0?

He couldn't of got 3" of lift out of the 2.0. Fox 2.0's, and Fox 2.5's with the stock length, are not for 3" of lift. Only the extended travel factory replacement 2.5 is for 3" of lift.

Correct. Also, I almost went with the 2.0 because I didn't necessarily "need" a full 3 up front. But the versatility of the extended travel I found appealing... Because I know I might get "mod happy" from time to time. Glad I did what I did.

How much do you play with the damping adjustments? Do they make a difference on the street more so than off roading? Sorry about thread jack.:threadjacked:
