tonneau cover?

This is my first ?'s, so this may not be the right forum and sorry for that.
I am looking into getting a cover for my short bed, I think am locking on the Leer 700 series. Want to know how happy people are with it if they got it, or if there is another good one out there?

I have the 700 series on my truck, and they are awesome. I would definitely reccomend them.

 

Hard or Soft? Rolling, Folding or retractable?

What do you use your truck for? A big trunk, a truck bed to haul toys, hauling dirt?

I would suggest an ACCESS LE (i have the Lorado) Rollup cover, all supports roll up in it. Has full bed use including the rails. Lays flat and has a tensioning system and does not look like a covered wagon...

Mine is a hard cover. I actually use my truck for a lot more than people think, and it works great.

 

Excellent cover, I sell and install Leer products. Being from the east coast I am not familiar with the Snug lids but for the 700's intended purpose they look great and are 100% water tight.

 

I just installed a SnugLid SL last weekend, very clean and nice. I like it! I'll put up pics once I get the chance...

 

I went with an UnderCover and it fits great and is easy on & off. Costs about $650 shipped to your door

 

Undercover tonneau here also. After 2 years it still looks and functions like new. I love it.

 

I went with the UnderCover as well, I'm really liking it.

Got a sleek look, without using to much bed space. Wish I could see one in person. Hate buying something not trialed and errored...

 

I got the RollBak - very similar, but powder coated aluminum and can support 400 lbs.

Personally i'd recommend a folding hard cover. I have the Bakflip G2 and it's been flawless much better than their original version. I had the orginal one which was crap to say the least. Bak replaced my G1 for a G2 free of charge. The Undercover and Access are good too, but the versatility of a folding cover trump a one piece cover IMO. For instance, I was driving to work today, and some guy had a almost new fridge he was giving away sitting out on the side walk. If I had something like an Undercover, I'd have to go 30 miles home take the cover off and head back for the fridge which might of went to some other lucky recipient. Not with the Bakflip though!! I simply folded it back and loaded the fridge into the back with the help of the guy giving it away. It's not perfect, but it is mostly waterproof and fairly secure with a pop n lock.

 

Whatever you do DO NOT get an Extang whatever. Someone cut mine after two weeks of having it. I ordered a replacement over a month ago and they drop the ball twice in actually placing the order and I still have not received it.

I have an Extang Trifecta for over a year & love it. Its a soft trifold. Had an Access LE on my Tundra. That's a nice soft tonneau as well. I opted for the soft trifold because I wanted something easy & light with the ability to take completely off w/ minimal storage. The Access certainly has a tighter look but am completely 100% happy with my Extang.

 

I purchased the 4 panel cover by Advance Cover but I cant get the middle hinge to lay flat.

Love the extang cover. Rolls us when you need the space. No need to take something off or on. Got it for less than $200 on autoanything.com.

 

I don't have one so I don't know how it mounts. My Bakflip has two mounts near the front where the cover bolts go through. Is it possible to move the front mounting bracket up further? The BakFlip sat a little too far back because of the knobs they used touched the front rail. I replaced them with wingnuts and was able to move it forward enought to sit right.

 

I love my SnugLid F2, about $1050 installed. They have coupon at www.snugtop.com. Single key entry. Hard cover. The problem is obvious...can't haul anything too tall like a refrigerator.

I like the F2 because it is not a completely flat surface, which help a little with water deposit.
