    All depends on what you are looking for. There are only 4 of the trucks I am looking for showing on cars.com in the entire country, and the nearest is still over 1000 miles from Houston. I guess that is one way to get the break-in period out of the way, but not my preferred way to spend my holiday vacation.

    They called and said they'll be ready for me at 2. Work will be just fine without me. Also, drove back by on the way to the office, not out of the bay yet.

    And I finally have a temporary VIN! But with it came a 2/23/16 delivery date. Is there any way to find out from the temp VIN which plant it will be built at and when?

    Was just given the real VIN and was told its at the port. Should hopefully see it in a couple days.

    The first number will tell you where it's built
    5 - TX
    3 - MX

    In the last 6 digits there will be a letter,the 2 numbers before the letter will tell you the week of the build. Mine were 45A429 so it should be built on the 45th week of this year. After it's built you will get a permanent vin where the letter, A in my case, will be replaced by all numbers.

    The VIN in the email from GST is all #s, no letters.

    I'm beginning to wonder if my truck actually exists at all. Delivery on the 13th. Sorry, delayed, will be here on the 17th. Call today, sorry, delayed until the 19-22nd. Come on, this is 2016 and you can't tell me definitively where it's at and when it will arrive ? I'm losing confidence in the stealership already. Sure hope their service dept is better than sales.

    If it is coming by rail, there is a very good chance they don't actually have much control over where it is and when it will get there. With the explosion in UPS and other shipments going in priority moves this time of year, sometimes lower priority rail traffic ends up sitting in the yard for a few days before it can get anywhere.

    I would assume by as long as it's taking, would be coming loaded on a tractor trailer but I could be assuming wrong. Oh well... I'm going to assume it's not coming until next July and that way I won't be disappointed with any more delays. haha

    Truck is faster most times...but more expensive on a per unit basis.

    Cam37 I got a call today that finally I got an allocation. Supposedly build date of 12-24 then delivery then they r putting leather seats in so maybe a month from now. I am just happy to have an accepted order and an end in sight. Due to e check failure have been driving on expired plates for a month.

    So... I was initially told my truck would be in on 11/30 - didn't happen. Then I was told last Monday - didn't happen. I get a text message today from dealer that truck is there, so I asked for a photo - seems she can't find the truck. :confused:

    Hopefully I'll get better info tomorrow.
