That's the only thing I like about the snow here. They always plow my work parking lot to where one of the corners has a snow bank, and I'm the only one that ever parks there.

Of parking? No, it was just a foot or so of snow piled up.

Wait, you aren't the guy that drives up the side of snow banks and parks, right?

    I am haha

Mainly because I'd rather not take a spot a car can park in and leave that one empty just because there's enough snow for a car or stock truck to possibly hit their bumper on. Out parking lot at work is pretty small.

Well, I have the 11th - 18th for spring break. Traditionally I just take this time to relax and go fish for a few days. Normally in state. This time around I want to go see something new.

Any ideas? Preferably in a reasonable distance. Moab/UT has my attention as the weather is a bit nicer there around that time but I am planning on Rock Therapy so I would be happy to consider other places too.

Guessing it will be much like Wyoming and the majority of trails are seasonally closed.

So my school is weird in the way that they give an abnormally long winter break. I believe they got rid of fall break to do this. Anyways I have from the 19th of December to the 24th of January. I had the possibility of working with porcupine research but sadly I would have had to take the next semester off to do it. Instead I have a nice block of time where I don't really have anything to do. Just so happens my roommates are also gone so I have the garage to myself! The truck is getting some loving.
    • Fluid change all around.
    • 4WD actuator needs to be removed and looked at. I think I have water stuck inside that's freezing which keeps it from working at unfortunate times. (This thing has given me so much grief)
    • Sliders are getting grinded down to remove rust and re-painted.
    • Rear bumper sits at an angle so I need to loosen all the bolts and adjust it so it doesn't look like I have a saggy diaper.
    • Wire LED lights for the softopper.
    • Install bed mat/organize bed.
    • Install UCA's from @SconnieHailer
    • Find a shop that I trust to dig into my engine and determine what is burning oil.
Should be a productive break for me.

Last time is wasn't too bad. I broke the breather tube on it so I have to just seal it off for a quick fix. I am guessing it is just condensation that has gotten in. I don't really want to drop the cash on a new piece that will just fail again. One day I'll man up and toss in the FJ transfer case in it.

I dont even understand why that stupid plastic breather tube is there. Youre just going to seal it off permanently?

The fj case still requires the front add actuator so that wont fix the problem.

I think it is to allow air to escape and attempt to keep water out. I have already sealed it off. It happened while I was installing my gears and I had a trip to join in on. Not sure if I will figure out a way to fix it out not. From what I understand the FJ transfer case is mostly mechanical and chances of it failing is far slimmer than the tacomas.

seems silly they put it there even. i think some good silicone on the platic to metal casing surface and then some good epoxy over the hole should seal it up nicely.

the fj case is mechanical. but the front diff on our trucks uses the electronic add actuator which is the failing point and that remains even with an fj swap.

Hmm, didn't know that. I remember one guy who got fed up with replacing the actuator that he went with the fj transfer case but then he totaled his truck not long after :pout:. It would be awesome to have 2-lo though!

yup the only thing the fj case actually removes is the electronic transfer case actuator. paging @HomerTaco to verify please.
