What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Just so long as the sliders mount to the frame and not the rocker panel you are good to go.

 

Just got some "Spectra Premium" fuel tank straps so I can mount my skid plate. Just for good measure I'll be painting these with a satin black spray on enamel rust preventer even though they claim to be "stainless".

It's below freezing outside so I may not crawl underneath to mount them today.... Plus the enamel will need to cure. Haha



Have not decided which nuts I will use so I got two kinds. Both are lock nuts though so they won't wiggle loose over time.

 

Got my truck back from the body shop and had 265/75 dynapros installed today and the led pods set up again! glad to have the truck back. Still getting used to the color matched grill

 

20% on the fronts.

 

Sorry to say I'm right there with you, back and hips shot-just had to quit my job earlier than planned. Purchased 1/12, have 37-- miles. Life sucks sometimes, if you feel like I do I totally empathize.

 

Oooh yeah. Forgot I got the cover for the HiLift today.



And a tree saver strap. And a Winch line safety weight.

And a couple days ago I got a snatch block. And USPS says there are D-Ring shackles in my mail box right now.

 

So what is the point of having a hi-lift cover?

 

Helps keep dirt and water out of the moving parts. That way it's less likely to rust and should move more freely when it's time to use it.

Plus I'm hoping it helps a little with reducing the dang rattle it makes all the time.

 

OK, i figured the mechanical parts of the hi-lift are large enough that it shouldnt be bothered much by the elements. But I guess it never hurts to have a little added protection.

And i would say you just need a louder radio so you dont hear that rattle it makes...

 

Were you the one with the rattle that we talked about using the bungees or someone else?

 

I have an amp pushing two 10" subs. Still hear it. It's very loud. Constant clank sound.

 

That was me. The bungees help but it still goes clank.

And that thing looks shiny. Don't forget to sand down some of that paint of the standard bar.

 

Damn it... have you tried to switch the orientation of the lift? IE having the base towards the front. Maybe less movement and may cause it to make less noise...
I dont have one but im getting one for XMas. so i am not sure if they will mount that way...

 

LoL For being unused and brand new there is a lot of paint falling off as it is. Not that impressed with the paint job honestly. But I didn't buy it for looks. So long as it works when I need it I'm good with it.

 

the more paint that's gone the better it'll work.

 

I may try reversing it so the base plate is at the front of the bed and see if that helps.
