I am going to be happy when I am done tomorrow but I don't get stressed like some students. I am leaving for SC for a wedding so I am pretty stoked to enjoy a mini vacation and see some old friends.

I am going to miss college. I have about two semesters left. I am excited to find a job/settle down and stop living with roommates but it has been fun. Hopefully the job search is relatively painless.

I've got about 3 left including this upcoming semester. Just got super excited because I thought I had more. 10 classes left kinda wish I could knock out more but can't

with the FJ Case swap you still have the ADD on the clamshell but no actuator on the case. My understanding is that the case actuator is the one that can be problematic. The FJ Case is now completely manual and the ADD is controlled via switch on the dash. Mated with the crawlbox on a manual trans & you've got 24 forward speeds and 4 reverse.

Thanks for the info @HomerTaco . It's not something I need or will do in the near future, but it is on my "want" list haha.

There are some folks over on Pirate4x4 that talked about conversion to a manual ADD vs. the electric actuator.. Not sure how much merit there is to that...

Hmm my ADD actuator was the cause of my issue, the transfer case one worked fine.
You are talking about sealing the ADD though?
Manual would be nice there was a way to rig it for in cab use.

I would have to look it up to make sure we are talking about the same thing. I believe my issue is with the actuator on the front diff? Mainly, I want to get rid of the stupid turn nob for 4x4. I would like something similar to my dads dodge where you just "shift" it into 4wd. Instant, easier, and no waiting for the truck to get it's shit together.

Yup. Hillbilly engineering at it's finest. I made it before we figured out how to swap FJC manual T-cases in. If I were to do it again I would go with an FJC case, but mine has never let me down and always instantly shifts into 4HI/4LO. I locked my front actuator manually, then just unplugged the electrical connector so my "hubs" are always in so to speak.

The front diff actuator is the ADD. Which stays even with an fj case unless you do what username did.
Interesting. I wouldnt mind keeping my electronic transfer case since that one hasnt let me down. The front one is annoying though. Not even sure how the plastic nipple on it broke off.

Grab a 10mm and pop the front actuator out. Slide the lock sleeve over, and bam it's ready to party. You would have to dig around in the manual and figure out how to trick the electronics to keep the transfer case working, but I'm sure it's possible.

Guess that true. Maybe something to tackle if it ever goes out again

More than the MTR though and you can just further sipe them. I think duratracs may win the shoot out.

Could my issues with them off road be due to the sidewall being so strong? Even at 10psi they don't have much give.
