I don't necessarily regret the purchase of the truck it's self but I was at a dealership to buy a 2015 tacoma and a 2016 was getting off loaded off the semi while I was there. So long story short I loved the 16 and went with that. Buutttt. It was a sr5 and I didn't realize how bad ass the trd sports look in comparison. So my question is how hard is it to buy a sport hood cause I've looked everywhere online for one with no luck.

Give it a bit of time, I am sure a body shop can locate a sport hood for you.

Shouldn't be too hard really after a few months if that's all you're after. Sometimes once every so often, someone on here is willing to trade hoods.

    Never ending
I have a 2016 TRD Off Road, also love the way the sport hood looks. I purchased a sport hood and components from my dealer and have it at a local paint shop now. All for less than $900.00.

Judging on what he shows for sale and the area he is listing from, I would guess he's doing a prerunner/racetruck build. I know a guy in Hesperia (might be the same guy) that bought a new Tacoma a few years ago and gutted it within a few days. Kept not much more than the cab, engine and chassis to build a legit race truck. That said, never know... there could be a missing Tacoma somewhere.

Keep in eye out on these forms. There are people who prefer the clean look and will just swap

based on the multiple colored fenders/bumpers and in some cases unpainted panels, coupled with the fact that almost all of them have some minor damage, I would guess he has an "in" at a Toyota plant (likely baja) and gets rejected/damaged panels smuggled out of the giant dumpster.

The discounted price on a new hood is just under $400. Add another $200 for painting and $100 for the scoop insert.

My flat hood does not have the vibrations some have reported, and I'd be a whole lot more interested in the scooped hood if it actually did something besides look cool.

On my test drive (white Sport), the glare off the skewp was so distracting, there is no way I could live with that daily.

Is it just the hood you like, or is it the overall look with everything painted (mirrors, bumpers, door handles & such) that makes it look good to you?

i took the sport because I didn't want to wait 4 months for order to get trd or in color I wanted so as stated life lesson. Get new get want you want and wait if needed. I am still bummed I didn't get the trd OR instead of sport. That is ok though because I still love my truck and in another year if it hold the value like they say it will ill swap for the trd OR just like I want and ill know by then how the truck does after a year.
