CBC is government subsidized, not funded by any one political party. I would think most Canadian people, including CBC employees, can recognize that the CBC would have no influence whatsover on who gets elected president of the United States. Trump maybe a successful business man, but has also shown a weakness in his narrow perspective of the world, as illustrated numerous times by his bigoted inflammatory statements and could be generalized as a typical 'red neck American' view of the world. The CBC, like many other media around the world (in case you didn't notice) have reported on the opinions held by many, that Trump as President would be very dangerous for the US, and a backwards step in general for humanity.

 

I don't since that would mean the provincial economies in the West have continued on a downward trajectory.
Albertans have every right to be displeased with federal spending in Alberta, not so much with the equalization program.

@OICU812 how about we all agree that we should be less worried about the "white jesus" party and more concerned about the recent turn of events in our own province. Honestly, Ottawa hasn't done anything that I can complain about yet in this election cycle. Trudeau didn't sign anything in France that handcuffs Alberta, he isn't going to significantly raise corporate federal taxes, and he looks to be starting a recession rebuilding budget that is middle class friendly for next year. Notley on the other hand has signed the death warrant for commercially viable middle sized family owned farms, has created a tax that hurts the middle and lower class the most, and has put off the royalty review because it's going to be so painful she wanted some time for the ass numbing lube to set in before the Wildrose get a chance to tear another honest strip off of her anus in question period. Oh, btw, that royalty review is still coming. I doubt she will have even single digit approval numbers come summer. Why should she care though? She gets to keep trucking on for 5 years no matter what the people she represents think. She'll just keep on staying away from town hall meetings on her legislation, plus any other chances to interact with the electorate, and just chum around with her husbands union buddies. No sweat off her back.

Maybe she'll start wearing some Dr. Dre beats in the legislator so she doesn't even have to hear anything that (edit: contradicts) with her narrow minded view.

Bent spindle, cracked rim, flattened alignment tabs... the usual mess when momentum is directed from forward to directly sideways on the rim. Luckily one of the guys I was with is a mechanic and cut me a bit of a deal. The spindle was about $100, the labour about $600, and the new rims were about $800. So it was closer to 1.5K than 2K to be honest. I could of got away without new rims and just of found a kijiji single, but that would of been a PITA and I'm already running a small spacer so aftermarket rims were a better choice.

 

Happiness does not come from "If only I had or could..." Happiness is celebrating with gratefulness for what you already are, and can do!" Example - You may only receive one radio station; Be grateful and celebrate that you can listen to the CBC!

LOL Edmonton is nice in the summer along the river. That's about it. I prefer Calgary. I'm impressed it had a four wheeler in it. Those same trucks, in the winter have narrower winter tires on them and snowmobiles, either in enclosed trailers, or up on decks on the box, all headed to sled in the BC mountains.

 

I went to university in Edmonton, and at that time living close to the UofA, adjacent to the largest continuous urban green space in North America, was really nice. As a student, I couldn't afford a vehicle, and the River Valley offered year round recreation on the cheap, as well as good E/W corridor for non-motorized transport. Seems that sprawl has gotten bad in the last 15 years or so, but that seems to happen everywhere.

Living in Edmonton for 7 or 8 years, I was aware of many of her flaws, and the jaundiced view held by many of her casual visitors, but the City had a warmth and charm that seemed to make itself known to those who wanted to find it.
