You should do your online tire shopping on tirerack.com for better prices. Also if you have a Costco membership they have the BFGs for quite a bit cheaper and they will beat other peoples prices. 4WP isn't a company I'd do business with and I'll leave it at that. I got my KO2s at Costco.

I just used them for a pricing estimate, will likely buy from costco or local tire place. Still dont get why the 265/70 is more

I would imagine the 265/70s are a more common stock tire size so there's more demand. I don't see many vehicles with 265/75s from the factory so there may be a lesser demand from the ill informed.

My tire purchase from 4WheelParts was ~$200 cheaper than TireRack. :notsure:

Edit: Tires were KO2's in 275/70/17 and I bought 5 of them. Actual amount saved over TireRack.com was $240.

Strange but good deals can be that way, for further good deals you should take the 4wp quote to Costco and they'll generally beat it by 10% or something like that. Plus they have free rotation and balances for the life of the tires.

I considered that, but the nearest Costco is about 2 1/2 hour drive. My point in this is TireRack may have some good deals, but they are not always the cheapest - definitely shop around.

My KO2 275/70R17s were $188 each at 4WP and $30 each to mount and balance, another local store wanted $218 a tire + $10 shipping to the store. Not happy with the install though, will definitely search around for a shop that doesn't gouge the back of my matte black powder coated wheels...

I asked the same question and was told that the 265/75 is a more common size. Don't know if it's true but there are more options in that size than the 265/70's

I just got 265/70r17s on TireRack for $198 + $17 shipping, which I thought was pretty good. Amazon actually has KO2s, but they were around $218 per tire and you'll pay tax in most states, even though they were Prime shippable. My local tire shop (Les Schwab) couldn't even get KO2 prices, said they were on a nationwide backorder.

My local (Lacey) Costco sells them for $214. (265/70-17)
Just happened to be there last night.
I think Schwab was jerkin your chain. They don't like selling BFG's since they aren't a standard brand that they carry.

Hm, perhaps, I've never bought BFGs before so you may be right. I was trying to avoid our nutty sales tax, but with shipping from TireRack I didn't really save much. I also don't have a Costco membership, but sounds like I should have one :)

I just had the BFG's installed yesterday for ~$750 out the door at Costco. 265 75 16 KO2's. So, do your research. No sales tax where I'm at though either. Use a family/friend to buy them, or cough up the $55/year membership. It's worth it, even if you don't get the tires from them.

Costco membership is definitely worth it!

Only problem is I always leave that place with more stuff than I need lol.

Indeed. I am forbidden from making solo trips to Costco, just as the wife is forbidden from going to Nordstroms alone.
