I'm with both of you but will be taking the 1,400 mile round trip next week to see the family. The wife and I relocated to Tennessee 3+ years ago for work and left the family in Ohio.

I did put up some lights but, I'm always hesitant about doing that with being gone for the holidays.

I was informed that the stump will be ground down sometime this week. This aught to be interesting. Try to sleep while a huge stump is ground down.

If I get woke up, I'll take some pics.

It'd be nice if they could narrow it down to the specific day for you.

x2 ... actually works pretty well.

    'Morning, my night shift peeps!

Not too exciting around here. I got lucky. They ground out the stump while I was out shopping and removed the chips and brought in new top soil. Just waiting on a new tree to be stabbed in the ground this spring.

Other than that, the only thing exciting I can report is I just got done changing my computer password...Yeah, I know. I live on the razors edge.

I got no choice. Just got home and found I have no bed. My toddler niece and nephew were saying the night so their folks could go to the late Star Wars flick. The kiddies are still sleeping. Gonna have to wait a bit before I can claim my half of the bed. I'm making pan cakes. Hopefully the smell of the pan cakes get them moving:)

I get the holiday whether I work or not either. But if I am working I get 12hrs of holiday pay instead of 8. (And I get shift differential)

But i cant imagine working 4-4. That is crazy!

I've worked Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Just waiting for the 31st and I'll be completing 6 major holidays this year. Hopefully, I get all these days off on 2016. Sucks being the new guy.
